Patna: AN College emerged as the clear winner at the Wildlife Quiz 2026 organised in Patna as part of Wildlife Week-2026, with its teams securing all three top positions. The competition brought together 13 teams and tested young participants on wildlife, biodiversity and environmental issues.
The quiz was organised jointly by the Bihar State Biodiversity Board and Patna Zoo on the fifth day of Wildlife Week celebrations. The initiative aimed to deepen awareness among young people about wildlife conservation, biodiversity and the importance of protecting the environment.
The competition was conducted in two stages, with a preliminary round followed by a more challenging main round.
Five Teams Advanced to the Main Round
A total of 13 teams participated in the preliminary round. Based on their performance, five teams qualified for the main round, where participants faced questions related to wildlife, biodiversity, conservation and the environment.
The main round saw close competition as the shortlisted teams put their knowledge and understanding of wildlife-related subjects to the test.
The final results, however, gave AN College a clean sweep.
The winning teams were:
- First: Aditya Kumar and Rithik Kumar, AN College
- Second: Ritesh Kumar and Khushboo Kumari, AN College
- Third: Neeraj Kumar and Mrityunjay Kumar, AN College
With all three winning teams coming from the same institution, AN College emerged as the dominant performer of the competition.
Quiz Links Wildlife Knowledge With Conservation
The Wildlife Quiz was designed not simply as a knowledge-based contest but as part of a broader effort to encourage young people to understand the value of wildlife and biodiversity.
Wildlife conservation increasingly depends on public awareness, particularly among younger generations. By bringing students into an interactive competition, the organisers sought to make subjects such as biodiversity, environmental protection and wildlife conservation more engaging.
The format also gave participants an opportunity to connect classroom knowledge with real-world environmental concerns.
For young people, such activities can help build a stronger understanding of how ecosystems function and why protecting wildlife matters beyond individual species.
Wildlife Week-2026 Promotes Coexistence
The quiz forms part of a wider series of awareness programmes being conducted during Wildlife Week-2026.
The celebrations are focusing on wildlife conservation and the need for greater understanding between people and wildlife. Through educational and awareness activities, organisers are highlighting the importance of protecting biodiversity while promoting the idea of responsible human-wildlife coexistence.
The participation of college students in the quiz adds an important youth-focused dimension to these efforts. Engaging students through competitions can help turn environmental awareness into a more sustained interest in conservation.
Winners to Be Honoured at Wildlife Week Closing Ceremony
The three winning teams will receive recognition during the Wildlife Week-2026 closing ceremony on October 8.
The recognition will mark the conclusion of the quiz and acknowledge the participants who performed best in the competition.
Beyond the awards, the event highlights the role educational institutions can play in developing environmental awareness among young people. The strong performance of AN College teams also demonstrates the value of encouraging students to explore subjects beyond conventional academic learning.
Building a Conservation-Minded Generation
Wildlife awareness is closely connected with the future of biodiversity conservation. As cities expand and human activity places increasing pressure on natural habitats, public understanding becomes an important part of conservation efforts.
Events such as the Wildlife Quiz provide a platform where students can learn about wildlife while developing curiosity about environmental issues. They also create opportunities for institutions such as Patna Zoo and the Bihar State Biodiversity Board to connect directly with young audiences.
The AN College sweep adds a competitive highlight to this year’s Wildlife Week, but the larger objective remains awareness. By combining education, participation and public engagement, Bihar’s wildlife awareness programmes are seeking to encourage a generation that understands the importance of protecting nature and living responsibly alongside wildlife.
