Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav inaugurated the 13th edition of the Indian Harmonica Festival 2026 at the Kushabhau Thackeray Auditorium in Bhopal on October 2. The auditorium resonated with melodious harmonica tunes as artists from across the country performed popular musical compositions.
The event brought together harmonica enthusiasts and performers, highlighting the contribution of music and art to India’s cultural heritage.
Indian Harmonica Festival 2026 Held in Bhopal
The grand musical event featured performances on the mouth organ, with artists presenting a variety of well-known melodies.

CM Mohan Yadav Inaugurates 13th Edition
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav formally inaugurated the festival by lighting the ceremonial lamp.
Addressing the gathering, Yadav welcomed harmonica artists and music practitioners who had come to Bhopal from different parts of the country.
He said that the dedication of music practitioners was remarkable and described music as a living tradition of Indian culture.
The Chief Minister also highlighted the role of the arts in advancing the idea of “Ek Bharat – Shreshtha Bharat” and said that the Union government has been recognising the contributions of distinguished artists through Padma Awards.
CM Says Festival Will Take Harmonica Music to New Heights
After the programme, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav told the media that the 13th national conference organised by the Harmonica Association had brought together mouth organ artists from across India in Bhopal.
He said that music and art are integral parts of India’s rich cultural heritage.
According to Yadav, efforts are continuously being made under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership to promote art, music and culture and provide artists with recognition and appropriate platforms.
The Chief Minister expressed confidence that the conference would:
- Bring harmonica artists from across the country onto a common platform.
- Promote the harmonica as a musical art form.
- Provide artists with opportunities to showcase their talent.
- Help take the musical form to new heights.

Music and Art as Part of India’s Cultural Heritage
The festival highlighted the role of music in preserving and promoting India’s cultural traditions. Performances by artists of different age groups also showcased the growing interest in the harmonica as a musical instrument.
The participation of young artist Siddhi Soni, alongside established performer Anupam Paul, added another dimension to the event and reflected the participation of both experienced and emerging harmonica artists.
