New Delhi: In a significant bureaucratic reshuffle, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of 21 officers at the Joint Secretary and Joint Secretary-equivalent level across a wide range of ministries, departments, and autonomous institutions.

The appointments span strategic sectors including Home Affairs, Defence Production, Commerce, Coal, Rural Development, Health Research, Panchayati Raj, and Social Justice, among others.

The latest reshuffle reflects the Centre’s continued efforts to strengthen senior-level administration and ensure leadership continuity in critical departments.

Key Appointments in the Major ACC Reshuffle

Cabinet Secretariat and Security

• Deepa Chawla (IRAS: 1998) appointed as Joint Secretary in the Office of Secretary (Security), Cabinet Secretariat, for an overall tenure up to December 28, 2028.

Ministry of Coal

• Gopal Singh (IFoS: 2003: Bihar) appointed as Joint Secretary.

Department of Commerce

• Amit Kumar (IAS: 2010: Jharkhand) appointed as Joint Secretary up to May 4, 2030.

Ministry of Cooperation

• Shiv Pal Singh (IFoS: 1997: Uttar Pradesh) appointed as Joint Secretary up to March 15, 2029.

National Archives of India

• Neha Bansal (IAS: 2010: AGMUT) appointed as Additional Director General, Records Management, New Delhi.

Department of Defence Production

• Vijay Namdeorao Zade (IAS: 2002: Punjab) appointed as Joint Secretary.
• Prakash Rajpurohit (IAS: 2010: Rajasthan) appointed as Joint Secretary up to April 8, 2030.

• M. Ramachandrudu (IAS: 2009: Bihar) appointed as Joint Secretary up to August 26, 2027.

Department of Justice

• Ajay Kumar Nema (ITS: 1994) appointed as Joint Secretary till his superannuation on July 31, 2030.
