In a move aimed at strengthening forest administration across key regions, the government has reassigned four Indian Forest Service (IFS) officers of the AGMUT cadre, currently serving as Deputy Conservators of Forests, to different administrative segments. The reshuffle reflects an effort to balance expertise and administrative requirements across the Delhi and Jammu & Kashmir regions.
Among the key transfers, Sandeep Divyajyoti Behera has been posted to the Jammu and Kashmir segment. His reassignment is expected to contribute to forest management and conservation efforts in the ecologically sensitive region.
Meanwhile, Satyaprakash Singh and Atharva Tiwari have been transferred to the Delhi segment. Their postings come at a time when urban forestry and environmental management are gaining increasing importance in the national capital, particularly in the context of pollution control and green cover expansion.
FOCUS ON ADMINISTRATIVE CONTINUITY
In a related development, the tenure of Amit Gemawat, who is currently serving on a Senior Duty Role (SDR) post in the Delhi segment, has been extended for another year. The extension is aimed at ensuring continuity in ongoing projects and administrative functions within the department.
Such periodic reshuffles within the AGMUT cadre are a routine part of administrative management, allowing for optimal utilization of officers’ experience while addressing region-specific challenges. By placing officers across diverse geographical segments, the system seeks to enhance governance outcomes in both urban and environmentally sensitive areas.
The latest transfers underline the importance of adaptive administrative deployment in maintaining efficiency and continuity in forest governance.
