Amid rising controversy and public protests, a four-member fact-finding committee has commenced its inquiry into the alleged religious conversion and sexual harassment case linked to the Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) office in Nashik, Maharashtra.
Advocate Monika Arora, a member of the committee, confirmed that the panel has begun its work but refrained from making any immediate observations. “It’s not possible for us to say anything right now because we will meet all the stakeholders and talk to them. Whatever truth comes out, based on that, we are going to make a recommendation and a report,” she said.
The committee comprises a retired judge, a retired IPS officer, an advocate, and a coordinator from the National Commission for Women (NCW). The panel is expected to engage with all relevant parties before arriving at its findings.
PROBE BEGINS AMID PROTESTS AND ATS ACTION
The inquiry comes at a time when tensions remain high in Nashik. Members of the Bajrang Dal staged protests outside the District Collector’s Office, demanding strict action over the allegations.

Adding to the developments, the Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has taken custody of two accused individuals—Safi Shaikh and Raza Memon—in connection with the alleged forced conversion case. Their interrogation is expected to play a crucial role in the investigation.
Meanwhile, the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has also taken cognisance of the matter. Member Priyank Kanungo stated that the Commission has sought detailed information from TCS regarding its BPO operations, workplace policies, POSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment) committees, and records of complaints filed over the past three years.
According to the complaint received by the Commission, serious allegations have been made, including claims that women employees were groomed, coerced into religious conversion, and subjected to harassment.
As multiple agencies step in and scrutiny intensifies, the findings of the fact-finding committee are expected to play a significant role in determining the course of action in the case.
