New Delhi: State-owned Agriculture Insurance Company of India (AIC) has been conferred the 17th Impact Leadership Award 2026 in recognition of its outstanding contribution to agricultural resilience through innovative crop insurance solutions, effective risk management, and sustained efforts to safeguard farmers’ livelihoods while promoting sustainable agricultural development.
The prestigious award was presented to Dr. Lavanya Mundayur, Chairman and Managing Director (CMD), AIC, by Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh during the Agriculture Leadership Conclave 2026, held in New Delhi on July 8–9.
Recognition for Strengthening Agricultural Resilience
The award acknowledges AIC’s significant role in strengthening India’s agricultural ecosystem by providing innovative crop insurance products, expanding financial protection for farmers, and enhancing resilience against climate and production risks.

The awards were decided by a distinguished jury chaired by Justice P. Sathasivam, former Chief Justice of India and former Governor of Kerala.
The National Awards Committee, which met in New Delhi on June 15, unanimously selected Agriculture Insurance Company of India for this year’s honour.
The award ceremony was attended by several distinguished dignitaries, including:
