Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that farmers’ welfare remains the top priority of the state government. Addressing the Balram Krishi Mahotsav in Khargone virtually from Datia, the Chief Minister highlighted government initiatives aimed at improving agricultural productivity, expanding irrigation facilities, and increasing farmers’ income.
As part of Krishak Kalyan Varsh 2026, the Madhya Pradesh government has been organising several programmes focused on modern farming techniques, agricultural equipment technology, and farmer development.
Balram Krishi Mahotsav Campaign Focuses on Modern Agriculture
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that various activities are being conducted throughout the year under Krishak Kalyan Varsh 2026.
During the first half of the year, workshops were organised to promote:
- Advanced agricultural practices
- Modern farming technology
- Use of improved agricultural equipment
The second half of the year is witnessing the organisation of Balram Krishi Mahotsavs across the state.
The campaign began from Indore on July 15, followed by a Krishi Mahotsav event held in Alirajpur on July 23.

Government Increasing Irrigation Facilities and Power Supply for Farmers
While addressing farmers at the Khargone Balram Krishi Mahotsav, CM Mohan Yadav said that the irrigated farming area in Madhya Pradesh is continuously increasing.
He added that the government has ensured adequate electricity supply for farmers to support agricultural activities.
The Chief Minister said that providing better irrigation facilities and reliable power supply will help farmers adopt advanced farming methods and improve agricultural output.
Farmers Given Helmets as Safety Initiative Under Krishak Kalyan Varsh
Highlighting a unique initiative, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that farmers travelling from villages to cities on two-wheelers while carrying milk and vegetables have been provided helmets for their safety.
He described the initiative as both an innovation and a facility for farmers, aimed at protecting their lives during daily transportation activities.
Balram Krishi Mahotsavs to Continue Across Madhya Pradesh Till November 13
CM Mohan Yadav said that Balram Krishi Mahotsavs and other agriculture-related programmes will continue across all districts of Madhya Pradesh until November 13.
The events will include activities focused on:
- Agriculture development
- Farmer awareness
- Modern farming techniques
- Improving agricultural income
He said that the state government is working with the vision of overall development of farmers, women, youth, and economically weaker sections under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
CM Urges Farmers to Adopt Advanced Farming Practices
The Chief Minister congratulated farmers participating in the Khargone Balram Krishi Mahotsav and encouraged them to adopt modern agricultural techniques to increase their profits.
He assured farmers that sufficient electricity supply would continue to be provided during both day and night to support farming operations.
Dr. Yadav said that the Madhya Pradesh government has ensured participation of 16 departments under Krishak Kalyan Varsh 2026 to implement a roadmap for increasing farmers’ income.
Large Number of Farmers Participate in Khargone Agriculture Festival
The Balram Krishi Mahotsav held in Khargone witnessed participation from a large number of farmers along with public representatives, local residents, and government officials. The event aimed to provide farmers with information about new agricultural technologies, government schemes, and opportunities to improve productivity and income.

Through initiatives under Krishak Kalyan Varsh 2026, the Madhya Pradesh government is focusing on strengthening agriculture, promoting modern farming practices, and improving farmers’ economic conditions.
