The company’s Value of Production also rose to ₹777 crore, registering a healthy 16% growth over the year-ago period.

BEML Returns to Positive EBITDA After 10 Years

One of the major highlights of BEML’s Q1 performance was its return to positive EBITDA of ₹3 crore.

According to the company, this marks its first positive quarterly EBITDA in the last 10 years.

The turnaround in quarterly EBITDA reflects BEML’s focus on improving operational efficiency, enhancing productivity and strengthening its underlying business fundamentals.

The company said the achievement represents an important milestone in its ongoing efforts to improve its financial and operational performance.

Order Inflow Jumps 172% Year-on-Year

BEML also witnessed a sharp increase in new order inflows during the quarter.

The company secured orders worth ₹1,181 crore in Q1 FY27, compared with ₹435 crore during the corresponding quarter of FY26. This represents a significant 172% year-on-year growth in order inflow.

The new orders were spread across BEML’s major business segments, reflecting demand for its products and solutions across multiple strategic sectors.

The sector-wise order inflow was:

  • Mining & Construction: ₹589 crore
  • Defence: ₹581 crore

The strong order intake from Defence and Mining & Construction, in particular, highlights the diversified nature of BEML’s business portfolio.

Order Book Reaches ₹16,284 Crore

With the addition of new orders during the quarter, BEML’s total order book stood at ₹16,284 crore at the end of Q1 FY27.

The sizeable order book provides the company with substantial revenue visibility and a strong foundation for sustained business growth in the coming quarters.

The company said the healthy order pipeline, combined with improving operational performance, positions BEML to capitalise on emerging opportunities across its three major business verticals — Defence & Aerospace, Mining & Construction, and Rail & Metro.

Strong Demand Across Diversified Business Portfolio

BEML’s Q1 performance comes amid continued demand for heavy equipment and specialised products across India’s strategic and infrastructure sectors.

As a major PSU under the Ministry of Defence, BEML plays an important role in supporting India’s defence manufacturing ecosystem while also supplying equipment and systems to the Rail, Mining and Construction sectors.

Its diversified business model allows the company to participate in multiple segments, reducing dependence on any single market and creating opportunities for growth through both defence and civilian-sector requirements.

BEML is a Schedule ‘A’ company under the Ministry of Defence and has a manufacturing legacy spanning around six decades.

The company operates through three principal verticals:

  • Defence & Aerospace
