Patna: The Bihar Government has announced a major initiative to modernize technical education by introducing national-level, industry-oriented engineering curricula across all government engineering colleges in the state. The Department of Science, Technology and Technical Education will collaborate with the National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research (NITTTR), Bhopal to update engineering programs in line with the latest technological advancements and industry requirements.
The proposal to appoint NITTTR Bhopal as the academic consultant for the project was approved during the State Cabinet meeting held earlier this week.
Bihar to Introduce Outcome-Based Engineering Curriculum
Under the new initiative, the department will redesign degree programs offered in government engineering colleges by adopting an Outcome-Based Curriculum (OBC). The updated curriculum will align with the AICTE Examination Reforms Policy 2018 and the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
Officials believe the reform will significantly improve the quality of technical education while making engineering graduates more employable in today’s competitive job market.
