Bihar Development Roadmap: CM Samrat Choudhary Unveils ₹11,461 Crore Projects for Industry, Airports and Jobs 

Bihar government unveils major growth plans including steel plant in Gaya, electronic park in Muzaffarpur, new airports, industrial corridors, sugar mills and employment-focused initiatives across the state.

Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary has unveiled a major development roadmap focusing on industrial growth, infrastructure expansion, employment generation, and flood management. The state government announced several big-ticket projects, including new industries, airports, industrial corridors, steel plants, electronic parks, and sugar mills across Bihar.

During a programme held in Patna, the Chief Minister laid the foundation stone and inaugurated 2,476 projects worth ₹11,461 crore, marking a major push towards economic development in the state.

Bihar Government Focuses on Industrial Growth and Job Creation

Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary said that the government’s biggest priority is to establish industries in every district of Bihar.

He stated that the next phase of development will focus on:

  • Increasing investment opportunities across the state
  • Setting up new industries in every district
  • Creating employment opportunities for youth
  • Strengthening industrial infrastructure

The government aims to transform Bihar into an industrially stronger state by attracting investments and supporting new businesses.

Gaya to Get Steel Plant on the Lines of Bokaro Steel Plant

CM Samrat Choudhary announced that a new steel plant will be established in the Integrated Manufacturing Cluster (IMC) area of Gaya.

The project is expected to be developed on the lines of the Bokaro Steel Plant and will bring large-scale industrial opportunities to the region.

The Chief Minister said that the project will help boost manufacturing activities and generate employment opportunities.

Electronic Park Planned in Muzaffarpur With ₹20,000-30,000 Crore Investment

The Bihar government has announced plans to develop an Electronic Park at Rajapakar in Muzaffarpur.

According to the government, the project is expected to attract investment of around ₹20,000 crore to ₹30,000 crore.

The electronic park is projected to create employment opportunities for around one lakh people and promote the electronics manufacturing sector in Bihar.

Bihar to Set Up 25 New Sugar Mills in Five Years

To strengthen the sugar industry and support farmers, the Chief Minister announced that 25 new sugar mills will be established in Bihar over the next five years.

The initiative aims to:

  • Provide better market access to sugarcane farmers
  • Increase local employment opportunities
  • Promote the agriculture-based industry

The government believes that expanding the sugar sector will improve farmers’ income and boost rural economic growth.

Industrial Corridor Planned Along Kosi and Gandak Rivers

The Bihar government plans to develop an industrial corridor along the Kosi and Gandak rivers.

The project will include:

  • Construction of roads along river areas
  • Development of industrial zones
  • Promotion of economic activities in surrounding regions

The government also plans to establish new townships along the Ganga, Kosi, and Gandak rivers to accelerate regional development.

Bihar Prepares Master Plan to Control Flood Damage

Addressing the recurring flood situation caused by rivers originating from Nepal, CM Samrat Choudhary said that the government will prepare a comprehensive master plan.

The plan will focus on:

  • Reducing flood-related losses
  • Improving river management
  • Strengthening disaster preparedness

The government will use the master plan as a roadmap for future flood control measures.

Darbhanga and Purnia Airports to Get International Status

The Chief Minister announced major plans to expand Bihar’s aviation infrastructure.

Key announcements include:

  • Darbhanga Airport will be developed into an international airport, with its inauguration expected in November by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
  • Purnia Airport will also be upgraded to international standards, with a ₹206 crore project already approved.

The government aims to improve air connectivity and support economic growth through better aviation infrastructure.

New Airports Planned Across Bihar

The state government has also planned expansion of air services by developing new airports at multiple locations.

New airport projects are proposed in:

  • Sonpur
  • Ajgaibinath Sultanganj in Bhagalpur
  • Veerpur
  • Saharsa
  • Forbesganj
  • Kishanganj
  • Valmikinagar
  • Muzaffarpur
  • Gopalganj

The expansion plan is expected to improve connectivity and support tourism, trade, and business activities.

Bihar Students to Receive Scholarship for Nalanda University

CM Samrat Choudhary announced that students from Bihar studying at Nalanda International University will receive the Mukhyamantri Scholarship.

The initiative aims to encourage students to pursue higher education and provide financial support for advanced studies.

Jeevika Tower Announced in Patna for Women Entrepreneurs

The Chief Minister also announced the construction of a Jeevika Tower in Patna for Jeevika women groups.

The facility will provide a dedicated marketplace for products made by self-help groups.

The initiative is expected to:

  • Support women entrepreneurs
  • Provide better market access for local products
  • Strengthen women-led businesses in Bihar

Bihar’s New Development Vision Focuses on Industry, Infrastructure and Employment

With announcements covering industries, airports, agriculture-based businesses, flood management, education, and women empowerment, the Bihar government has presented a broad development strategy.
