Braithwaite & Company Limited Appoints Naveen Kumar as CMD (Additional Charge) Following Former CMD’s Resignation

New Delhi: Following the resignation of the former CMD, Mr. Md. Asad Aslam, Braithwaite & Company Limited (BCL) has entrusted Mr. Naveen Kumar, IRSEE (1992 batch), PCEE, South Eastern Railway, with the additional charge of Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) to ensure continuity in leadership. The appointment has been approved by the Competent Authority and will remain in effect until a regular CMD is appointed or further orders are issued.

Appointment Following Resignation of Former CMD

The leadership vacancy arose after Mr. Md. Asad Aslam resigned from the position of CMD in December 2025. To maintain operational continuity and ensure that the company’s strategic and administrative functions remain uninterrupted, the government has decided to assign the additional charge to Mr. Naveen Kumar.

Profile of Mr. Naveen Kumar

Mr. Naveen Kumar is a distinguished officer of the Indian Railway Service of Electrical Engineers (IRSEE), 1992 batch. With a professional background in electrical engineering, his career spans over three decades, marked by significant contributions to the Indian Railways.

He has held key positions across the Railway Board and multiple Zonal Railways, including roles such as Joint Secretary and Executive Director-Establishment (Gazetted Cadre). His expertise in electrical engineering and leadership experience in high-level administrative roles underscore his suitability to oversee the operations of a major public sector undertaking like BCL.

Ensuring Continuity and Leadership Stability

The assignment of the additional charge to Mr. Naveen Kumar ensures that BCL continues to operate efficiently during the transition period. It also signals the government’s commitment to maintaining robust leadership in its public sector enterprises while a permanent CMD is identified.
