Patna: The Bihar State Road Transport Corporation (BSRTC) is strengthening its inter-state bus network with the arrival of new AC and non-AC deluxe buses in Patna.
Of the 149 buses planned, 78 have reached the Phulwarisharif depot, while the remaining buses are expected by the end of August. Most buses will begin operations during the upcoming festive season, although some have already started operating on the Patna–Deoghar route during the Shravani Mela.
Six States to Get Direct Connectivity
The new BSRTC buses will connect Bihar with Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal and Jharkhand.
The expanded network is expected to benefit migrant workers, students, traders and families, particularly those travelling to Bihar during the festive season.
Bihar has also reached an agreement with Haryana for direct bus operations, while discussions with other states are continuing.

Focus on Safer, Affordable Travel
The deluxe buses feature comfortable seating, improved suspension and air-conditioning in AC variants. The services are aimed at providing safer and more comfortable long-distance travel while offering passengers an affordable alternative to private buses.
Five E-Pink Buses Arrive
Alongside the deluxe buses, five PM E-Pink electric buses have also reached Patna. These buses are being sent from Pune in phases.
Their deployment is expected to expand public transport connectivity between urban centres, districts and rural areas. The arrival of the new fleet could also create additional employment opportunities in the transport sector.
The expansion marks another step towards improving public transport connectivity in Bihar, particularly ahead of the increased travel demand during the festive season.
