Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav on Friday performed prayers at the BJP headquarters in Bhopal on the occasion of Dhanteras and the birth anniversary of Lord Dhanvantari. He prayed for the good health, prosperity and well-being of people across the state.
During the occasion, the Chief Minister also highlighted the state government’s initiative to provide free registration of rural residential properties under the Centre’s Swamitva Yojana, saying that the scheme would help villagers obtain formal documentation for their homes.
State BJP president Hemant Khandelwal and other senior party office-bearers were present during the prayers.
Mohan Yadav Emphasises Health and Traditional Medicine
Speaking on Dhanteras, Yadav said the five-day Diwali festival begins with the occasion, when people worship Lord Dhanvantari, regarded as the deity associated with health and Ayurveda.
He said good health was among the greatest forms of wealth and referred to the traditional belief that a healthy body is the foundation of well-being.
The Chief Minister also spoke about the promotion of traditional systems of medicine alongside modern healthcare. He said that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, Ayurveda and homoeopathy were being encouraged alongside allopathic medicine.
Yadav added that the state’s AYUSH Department was playing a role in recognising and promoting India’s traditional systems of treatment.
Free Registration of Rural Homes Under Swamitva Yojana
The Chief Minister highlighted the state government’s decision to facilitate free registration of rural houses under the Swamitva Yojana, an initiative being implemented as a campaign in Madhya Pradesh.
He pointed out that rural families often invest substantial amounts of their savings in building their homes. Formal property documentation, he said, could help them access institutional credit when required.
According to Yadav, the scheme is intended to provide rural residents with documented ownership of their residential properties, enabling beneficiaries to use the property papers to seek loans from banks.
Congratulating those benefiting from the initiative, he said the state government was working to implement the scheme as a focused campaign.
How Property Documents Can Help Rural Residents
The Swamitva Yojana aims to provide property records to eligible rural households. As highlighted by the Chief Minister, the documentation can help beneficiaries:
- Establish formal records of their residential properties.
- Use property documents when applying for bank loans.
- Access credit based on the documentation of their homes.
Yadav congratulated the beneficiaries and reiterated the importance of the initiative for rural residents.
