Former bureaucrat and Managing Director of Maruti Suzuki Jagdish Khattar took his last breath on Monday, 26 April, due to a cardiac arrest. He was also the founder of an automotive sales and service company named Carnation Auto India.
Khattar joined Maruti in 1993, as director of marketing, and in 1999, he went on to become its managing director, first as a government nominee and then in May 2002 as the Suzuki Motor Corporation nominee.
Prior to this, Khattar served in the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) for 37 years. After his retirement in 2007, he planned to set his independent multi-brand pan India sales and service network company Carnation Auto India. He launched it in 2008 with a vision of developing a multi-brand automobile sales and service network.
