New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the ex-post facto entrustment of the additional charge of Director General, Chaudhary Charan Singh National Institute of Agricultural Marketing (CCS NIAM) to two IAS officers in succession. Separately, AGMUT cadre IPS officer Ankit Chauhan has been appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Heavy Industries under the Central Staffing Scheme.
The approvals were made on the proposals of the Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare and the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT).
Additional Charge of CCS NIAM Approved
The ACC has approved the following arrangements for the post of Director General, Chaudhary Charan Singh National Institute of Agricultural Marketing (CCS NIAM):
- Muktanand Agrawal (IAS:2008:Rajasthan), currently serving as Chief Executive Officer, Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY), has been given ex-post facto additional charge of Director General, CCS NIAM for the period from February 18, 2025 to February 17, 2026.
- Chinmay Pundlikrao Gotmare (IAS:2009:Assam-Meghalaya), Joint Secretary, Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, has been entrusted with the additional charge of Director General, CCS NIAM for nine months, from February 18, 2026 to November 17, 2026, or until the regular incumbent assumes charge or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
IPS Officer Ankit Chauhan Appointed Deputy Secretary
In a separate order, Ankit Chauhan (IPS:2013:AGMUT) has been appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Heavy Industries, New Delhi, under the Central Staffing Scheme.
Recommended for Central deputation by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Chauhan has been appointed for a four-year tenure from the date of assuming charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
The DoPT has directed that he be relieved immediately from his present assignment to enable him to take up his new responsibilities in the Ministry of Heavy Industries.
