Chhattisgarh Govt Approves ₹500 Crore Startup and Skill Mission to Boost Youth Employment

Mukhyamantri Startup and NIPUN Mission will establish entrepreneurship centres in 33 districts, 100 Emerging Technology Labs and 5 Centres of Excellence, while the state also approves a new export policy and ₹200 crore NSTI in Nava Raipur.

Raipur: The Chhattisgarh government has approved a series of governance and development initiatives focused on employment generation, startup growth, advanced skill development, exports, employee welfare and judicial infrastructure.

At a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, the state government approved the Mukhyamantri Startup and NIPUN Mission, with an outlay of ₹500 crore over five years. The mission aims to transform young people from job-seekers into job-creators while aligning skill development with emerging industry requirements.

Mukhyamantri Startup and NIPUN Mission to Get ₹500 Crore

The Mukhyamantri Startup and NIPUN Mission will focus on promoting entrepreneurship and creating employment opportunities across Chhattisgarh.

Under the five-year mission, the government will establish:

  • Entrepreneurship Development Centres across all 33 districts
  • 100 Emerging Technology Labs
  • 5 Industry Centres of Excellence
  • NIPUN Job Engine to connect youth skills with evolving industrial requirements

The NIPUN Job Engine is expected to help align training programmes with industry demand and accelerate access to formal employment opportunities.

Chhattisgarh Approves Export Promotion Policy 2026–30

The cabinet also approved the Chhattisgarh Export Promotion Policy 2026–30, aimed at strengthening the state’s position in national and international trade.

The policy seeks to develop a stronger export ecosystem by improving logistics, expanding market access and promoting high-value agricultural and industrial products.

Key focus areas include:

  • Strengthening logistics corridors
  • Expanding direct access to international markets
  • Promoting value-added agricultural exports
  • Encouraging value-added industrial exports
  • Integrating e-commerce into export activities
  • Promoting participation in international trade expos and fairs

The policy is also expected to connect local entrepreneurs and exporters with national and global supply chains.

Nava Raipur to Get National Skill Training Institute

To strengthen technical and vocational education, the Chhattisgarh cabinet approved the free allotment of 10 acres of land at Nava Raipur to the Directorate General of Training under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India.

The proposed National Skill Training Institute (NSTI) will be developed at an estimated cost of ₹200 crore.

The institute will feature modern academic, administrative and hostel facilities and will provide industry-oriented technical and vocational training.

NSTI Training Capacity

The proposed institute will provide:

  • 1,000 trainees annually in long-term training programmes
  • 3,000 trainees annually in short-term courses

The initiative is expected to strengthen technical education and help establish Nava Raipur as a regional hub for industry-ready skill development.

Government Employees to Get Higher Age Limit for Higher Posts

The state cabinet also approved a measure aimed at providing greater opportunities to existing government employees.

Under the decision, the upper age limit has been increased from 38 years to 45 years for existing government employees applying for higher posts or alternate departmental services.

The move is expected to provide eligible government personnel with additional opportunities for career progression within the state administration.

Durg to Get Modern District Court Complex

The cabinet also approved the allotment of 4 hectares of land near BIT College in Titurdih village, Durg, for the development of a modern district court complex.

The proposed facility is aimed at providing improved infrastructure and a better-equipped judicial complex for Durg district.

The decision forms part of the state government’s broader focus on strengthening public infrastructure and improving institutional facilities.
