Durg: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Sunday inaugurated a state-of-the-art IT Park at Civil Lines, Durg, marking a major push towards technology-driven development, innovation, and employment generation in the region.
The Chief Minister said the IT Park represents a new beginning for the dreams, technical capabilities, and self-reliant future of the youth of Chhattisgarh.
IT Park to Drive Employment, Startups and Digital Economy
CM Sai said the government aims to transform youth from job seekers into leaders of a technology-driven economy. He added that the IT Park, developed in collaboration with IIT Bhilai and the state government, will serve as a platform for skill development, startup growth, and modern employment opportunities.
He informed that around 40 IT companies are already operating from the facility, while over 100 companies have expressed interest in setting up operations in the future.

Major Step Towards Digital Transformation of Chhattisgarh
The Chief Minister said that Chhattisgarh will no longer remain limited to a mineral- and agriculture-based economy but will move rapidly towards a digital, innovation-driven future.
He highlighted that the Durg-Bhilai region, already known for education and industry, will now emerge as a major hub for IT services, startups, and digital innovation, helping local youth find jobs without migrating to bigger cities.
Strong Infrastructure for IT Industry Development
The IT Park has been developed over approximately 3,900 square meters of land with a built-up area of 2,907.26 square meters. It includes:
- 40 large office spaces
- 5 spacious halls
- Cafeteria (mess facility)
- Secure boundary wall and modern infrastructure
Officials said the facility is designed to provide a safe, structured, and business-friendly environment for IT companies.
Government’s Vision: A Digital and Innovation-Driven Chhattisgarh
Chief Minister Sai highlighted that Chhattisgarh is no longer limited to a mineral- and agriculture-based economy. The state is rapidly moving toward digital transformation, IT services, and innovation-led growth.
He noted that the Durg-Bhilai region has long been a center for education, industry, and talent, and the IT Park will further strengthen it as a rising hub for:
- Digital services
- Technological innovation
- Startup ecosystem development
This development is also expected to reduce youth migration to metro cities by creating local employment opportunities in the technology sector.
IIT Bhilai Collaboration Strengthens Project
School Education Minister Gajendra Yadav said the project has been developed under an MoU between the Chhattisgarh government and IIT Bhilai, ensuring technical expertise and institutional support. He added that the presence of 40 operational IT companies at the initial stage reflects strong industry confidence in the state’s growing tech ecosystem.
Boost for Youth Employment and Startup Ecosystem
The IT Park is expected to significantly boost job creation, skill development, technical investment, and startup culture in the Durg region. CM Sai emphasized that the project fulfills a previous government announcement and reflects its commitment to fast execution and development-oriented governance.
