Durg: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai continued the state-wide “Sushasan Tihar” (Good Governance Festival) initiative with a major administrative and development event in Durg district, where he inaugurated and laid the foundation for development projects worth approximately ₹737 crore. The event focused on bringing government welfare schemes closer to eligible beneficiaries and strengthening last-mile delivery of public services.
The program was held at JRD School Ground in Durg and witnessed the presence of several senior leaders and public representatives, including Education Minister Gajendra Yadav and MP Vijay Baghel, along with other local officials and legislators.
₹737 Crore Worth of Projects Inaugurated and Launched in Durg
During the event, the Chief Minister announced a massive development package for Durg district, aimed at accelerating infrastructure growth and public facility expansion.
According to official details, the government carried out:
- Inauguration of 99 completed development works worth approximately ₹376.69 crore
- Foundation laying for 152 new projects worth approximately ₹360.38 crore
Together, these projects cover road connectivity, education infrastructure, power supply upgrades, and public utility expansion across the district.

Major Infrastructure Projects Announced
Several key projects were highlighted as part of the development push, including:
- Indoor stadium and staff quarters at Chandulal Chandrakar PG College, Pाटन
- Construction of buildings at Hemchand Yadav Durg University
- High-level bridge over Shivnath River on the Anjora–Changori–Bharda road
- Bridge construction on Durg–Nagpura–Karela route
- Development of “Lakshman Jhula” at Thakurain Tola Ghat
- Installation of additional power transformers to improve electricity distribution
These projects are expected to significantly improve connectivity, education facilities, and urban infrastructure in the region.
Focus on Good Governance and Direct Public Feedback
Under the “Sushasan Tihar” initiative, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai emphasized direct communication with citizens through public camps and surprise inspections. The initiative is designed to ensure that welfare schemes reach the last eligible beneficiary without delay or administrative barriers.
Officials are instructed to collect public feedback during these camps, which is then used to guide administrative action and improve governance efficiency.
Strict Warning Against Misconduct by Officials
In his address, the Chief Minister issued a strong warning to government officials regarding misconduct and negligence. He stated that any form of misbehavior with the public will not be tolerated and will be investigated thoroughly.
He added that strict disciplinary action will be taken against those found guilty, reinforcing the government’s commitment to accountability and transparent administration.
Administrative Oversight and Action-Oriented Governance
The Chief Minister reiterated that the state government is actively monitoring departments to ensure effective implementation of public welfare schemes. He highlighted that technical education institutions are also being strengthened and that infrastructure development in the education sector remains a priority.
