Raipur: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said the real estate sector will have an important role in the state’s plan to build a developed Chhattisgarh by 2047.
Addressing the CREDAI Chhattisgarh Statecon-2026 ‘Building Viksit Chhattisgarh’ programme at a hotel in Nava Raipur on Thursday, Sai said growing urbanisation and economic activity were increasing the need for modern cities, quality housing and supporting infrastructure.
He said the state government was working towards creating a transparent system, simplifying procedures and developing an environment conducive to investment in the real estate sector.
State Capital Region to Cover Raipur, Durg, Bhilai and Rajnandgaon
Sai said the government was developing a State Capital Region for planned and long-term growth around Raipur.
The proposed region will connect Raipur, Durg, Bhilai and Rajnandgaon, with planning focused on future requirements.

According to the Chief Minister, the region is expected to create opportunities across:
- Housing and urban development
- Industry and trade
- Transport and connectivity
- Services and related sectors
He said planned urban development would be necessary to address the requirements arising from increasing urbanisation.
Government Sets ₹75 Lakh Crore Economic Target for 2047
Sai said Chhattisgarh has prepared a vision document, ‘Chhattisgarh Anjor’, in line with the broader objective of developing India by 2047.
The state has set a target of taking its economy to ₹75 lakh crore by 2047, according to the Chief Minister.
He cited the state’s mineral resources, electricity and water availability, forest cover and improving connectivity among the factors relevant to its development plans.
Sai also called on real estate developers and other industry participants to contribute to residential and commercial projects that meet planned development requirements.
Registration Processes Being Simplified: OP Choudhary
Housing and Environment Minister OP Choudhary said the state government was undertaking governance and procedural reforms for industry, trade and the real estate sector.
He highlighted several technology-based changes in property registration, including:
- Digital delivery of documents through WhatsApp
- Automatic mutation
- 50% concession in registration fees for women
- Changes in the registration-fee process for properties registered at values above the guideline rate
Choudhary said the State Capital Region would be an important part of Chhattisgarh’s future development planning and that urbanisation was being approached alongside infrastructure, connectivity and civic amenities.
The event was attended by CREDAI representatives, architects, engineers, entrepreneurs and other members of the real estate sector.
