New Delhi: NHPC Limited and the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) BHU, Varanasi have signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) to promote research and development (R&D) activities in science, technology and engineering.
The MoA was signed on September 23, 2026, in the presence of Suprakash Adhikari, Director (Technical), NHPC. The collaboration is aimed at strengthening research, innovation and technical capabilities in areas related to hydropower projects and power station operations.
NHPC-IIT BHU MoA to Promote Research and Innovation
The partnership will provide a framework for NHPC and IIT BHU to work together on R&D activities related to the hydropower sector.
Key areas of the collaboration include:
- Research related to the construction of hydropower projects
- Development of solutions for operation and maintenance of power stations

- Development of practical and application-oriented technical solutions
