Orchha:  Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav on Wednesday laid the foundation stone for projects worth ₹123 crore under the second phase of Shri Ramraja Lok in Orchha and inaugurated development works worth ₹74 crore. The large-scale initiatives are part of the state government’s plan to transform Orchha into a major hub for religious and heritage tourism.

CM Announces Air Ambulance and Helicopter Connectivity

During the ceremony, CM Yadav announced that Orchha will be connected with air ambulance and helicopter services in the near future. He revealed that an airstrip will be constructed, allowing tourists and pilgrims to reach Orchha directly by helicopter.

In the coming time, people will be able to arrive in Orchha through helicopter services. This will give a big boost to religious tourism and accessibility,” the Chief Minister said while addressing the public gathering.

Visit to Jujhar Singh Mahal and Review of Ongoing Works

The Chief Minister also visited Jujhar Singh Mahal to inspect ongoing construction activities under the Shri Ramraja Lok project. The ambitious project aims to revive the historical and spiritual grandeur of Orchha, which is one of the most revered pilgrimage destinations in Madhya Pradesh.

“Orchha’s Lost Glory is Returning,” Says CM

Addressing the gathering, CM Yadav evoked Orchha’s rich spiritual history, recalling how over 500 years ago, the queen of Orchha brought Lord Ram to the town out of her deep devotion.

“Today, Orchha is witnessing the return of its old glory. This is a historic moment — it truly feels like Diwali for all of us,” he said.

Orchha Emerging as a Major Religious Tourism Destination

The Shri Ramraja Lok project is designed to develop Orchha as a world-class religious and heritage tourism destination. With major infrastructure projects, spiritual tourism circuits, and enhanced connectivity, the government aims to attract both domestic and international tourists.

Orchha, known for its Ram Raja Temple, historic palaces, and cultural heritage, holds a unique place in India’s spiritual map. The upcoming infrastructure projects are expected to create jobs, improve local facilities, and strengthen the state’s tourism economy.

Government’s Vision for Development

The Madhya Pradesh government has been taking several initiatives to preserve the state’s cultural identity while promoting tourism-led economic growth. The second phase of Shri Ramraja Lok is part of this broader vision, focusing on:

  • Restoration of heritage sites
  • Modern facilities for devotees and visitors
  • Improved transportation and connectivity
  • Creation of employment opportunities in the tourism sector
