Khatima: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Sunday reiterated his government’s focus on grassroots development, transparency, and public welfare during a three-day visit to his home constituency, Khatima. The visit featured a series of public outreach programs, welfare distributions, and development-focused announcements.
‘Jan-Jan Ki Sarkar’ Outreach Program Held in Bagulia
As part of his visit, CM Dhami attended the “Jan-Jan Ki Sarkar, Mukhya Sevak Aapke Dwar” public outreach initiative at the Shaheed Hari Kishan Shikshan Sansthan in Bagulia.
The program aimed to bring government services directly to citizens’ doorsteps, with departmental stalls and self-help group exhibitions set up at the venue. The initiative was highlighted as a key mechanism to strengthen the connection between the administration and rural communities.
Focus on Transparency, Anti-Corruption Measures, and Welfare Delivery
Addressing the gathering, CM Dhami credited the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for supporting a governance model focused on transparency and welfare delivery.
He stated that the government has used technology-driven systems to curb corruption and ensure that welfare benefits reach intended beneficiaries without leakage. According to him, the administration has adopted a zero-tolerance approach toward corruption and strengthened transparency in recruitment processes.
Welfare Initiatives: Didi Cafe, Mahalakshmi Kits, and Scholarships
During the event, the Chief Minister inspected multiple departmental and self-help group stalls showcasing local initiatives.
Key welfare actions included:
- Inauguration of “Didi Cafe”, operated by women under the Gramotthan Project
- Distribution of Mahalakshmi Kits to pregnant women
- Scholarships provided to meritorious students
The Didi Cafe initiative was particularly highlighted as part of efforts to promote women’s economic empowerment and self-employment opportunities.
Strong Message on Development and Youth Empowerment
CM Dhami emphasized several policy achievements, including the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) and the introduction of an anti-cheating law aimed at ensuring fairness in recruitment processes.
He reiterated the government’s focus on safeguarding the future of youth through transparent examinations and employment systems.
Emotional Connect with Khatima and Local Engagement
Reaffirming his personal bond with the region, CM Dhami stated:
“Khatima is my family. I am committed to its growth, and there will be no compromise on ongoing development works.”
He also assured residents that all sanctioned development projects in the area would be completed without delay.

The Chief Minister received a traditional welcome during the visit, which included Tharu cultural performances reflecting the region’s heritage. A ceremonial shawl was also presented to him as part of the reception.
