Banda: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday gifted development projects worth around ₹710 crore to Banda district. After addressing a public gathering, the Chief Minister inaugurated 109 completed projects and laid the foundation stone for 120 new projects by pressing a button.
The projects cover key sectors including road connectivity, education, healthcare, tourism, rural development, drinking water, irrigation, and infrastructure, aimed at accelerating overall development in the Bundelkhand region.
Major Road Infrastructure Projects to Improve Connectivity
Among the major announcements, CM Yogi laid the foundation stone for the four-laning, widening, and strengthening of the Banda-Kamasin-Rajapur road.
Once completed, the project is expected to improve connectivity between Banda, Kamasin, and Rajapur in Chitrakoot. Better road infrastructure will support:
- Faster movement of goods and vehicles
- Growth of trade and agriculture activities
- Improved tourism connectivity
- Reduced traffic congestion for commuters
The foundation stone was also laid for the Banda-Baberu-Tindwari-Sumerpur road widening project, which will provide better connectivity towards Hamirpur and surrounding areas.
Education and Skill Development Projects Announced
The Chief Minister launched several initiatives to strengthen education facilities in the district.
Key projects include:
- Upgradation of Government High School Amalikaur
- Construction of Government High School Ingwa
- Modern workshop and training rooms at Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Banda
- Upgradation and development works at educational institutions
These projects are expected to provide students and youth with better opportunities for technical education and skill development.
Healthcare Facilities to Get Major Boost
To improve healthcare services, the government will establish Public Health Units at:
- Primary Health Centre (PHC), Barokhar
- Community Health Centre (CHC), Barokhar
The new facilities will expand diagnostic services and allow residents to access better healthcare facilities closer to their homes.
Tourism Development Projects Inaugurated in Banda
Several tourism-related projects were also inaugurated to promote local heritage and tourism.
Major completed projects include:
- Tourism development of Bhuragarh Fort
- Development of Shri Dabar Devta Temple
- Development of Anathuwa-based Arohi Dai Temple
- Musical fountain and boating facilities at Nawab Tank
- Eco-tourism development works
The government aims to strengthen tourism infrastructure and create new employment opportunities through heritage and cultural tourism.
Rani Avanti Bai Lodhi Statue Unveiled in Banda
CM Yogi Adityanath began his visit by unveiling the statue of Veerangana Rani Avanti Bai Lodhi at Kalukuan intersection in Banda.
The Chief Minister said Rani Avanti Bai was among India’s great warrior figures who sacrificed her life for the honour and dignity of the nation.
He added that the government is working continuously to preserve the memories of freedom fighters and historical personalities to inspire future generations.
Banda Receives Multiple Infrastructure Upgrades
The projects inaugurated and launched include:
- Four-lane railway overbridge on Jhansi-Manikpur section
- Baberu-Tindwari-Sumerpur road development
- Widening and strengthening of Moni Baba Ashram Jamwan road
- Government Polytechnic Banda and Baberu projects
- Improvement of Kyotara intersection and Kanwara-Brahmadhera road
- Banda-Kamasin-Rajapur road development
New foundation projects include:
- Banda-Kamasin-Rajapur four-lane expansion
- Chief Minister Urban Expansion Scheme
- Renovation of Government Polytechnic Banda
- Banda-Bharkhari connectivity road widening
- Tourism development at Kabir Ashram, Bharkhari
- Banda-Bahraich State Highway widening
CM Yogi Highlights Bundelkhand Transformation
Addressing the gathering, CM Yogi Adityanath said that when he became Chief Minister, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had advised him to focus on the development of Bundelkhand.
He said the region earlier faced challenges related to:
- Poor infrastructure
- Water shortages
- Limited employment opportunities
- Migration due to lack of jobs
The Chief Minister said the government has focused on improving irrigation, drinking water supply, roads, employment opportunities, and basic facilities in the region.
Focus on Law and Order Improvement
CM Yogi also highlighted improvements in law and order in Bundelkhand.
He said the region earlier faced challenges from illegal mining, land mafias, forest mafias, and criminal activities. According to him, strict action against criminals has helped establish a safer environment and encouraged investment and development.
He particularly mentioned the transformation of the Patha region, which was earlier known for dacoit activities but has now witnessed improved security and development.
Government’s Vision for Development and Heritage Protection
The Chief Minister said the government is working with a balanced approach by promoting both development and cultural heritage conservation.
He highlighted initiatives related to:
- Ayodhya Ram Temple development
- Kashi Vishwanath Dham
- Maa Vindhyavasini Dham
- Chitrakoot development
- Naimisharanya projects
He said these projects have boosted religious tourism and generated new employment opportunities.
Government Schemes and Future Development Plans
CM Yogi highlighted various welfare schemes including:
- Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana
- Har Ghar Jal initiative
- Farmer welfare programmes
- Health services
- Women empowerment schemes
- Education and infrastructure projects
He directed officials to ensure that eligible beneficiaries receive government scheme benefits without discrimination.
Banda and Bundelkhand on Development Path
CM Yogi Adityanath said Uttar Pradesh government’s priority is balanced development of every district. He stated that Bundelkhand is no longer viewed only as a backward region but as an area with new opportunities for growth.
He assured that work on roads, irrigation, education, healthcare, industries, and tourism projects will continue to provide better facilities and employment opportunities for people in the region.
