Prayagraj: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has approved a major development package worth ₹16,015 crore for the Prayagraj division, covering 3,093 infrastructure projects across Prayagraj, Pratapgarh, Fatehpur, and Kaushambi districts.
The approved projects include construction and improvement of roads, bridges, flyovers, bypasses, heliports, and other public infrastructure works aimed at strengthening connectivity and boosting regional development.
The decision was taken during a key meeting held on July 6 at the Prayagraj Mela Authority auditorium, where CM Yogi reviewed the Public Works Department’s (PWD) development plan for the financial year 2026-27 with elected representatives.
₹16,015 Crore Projects Approved for Four Districts of Prayagraj Division
During the meeting, CM Yogi approved development works across the entire Prayagraj division with district-wise allocations:
- Prayagraj: 1,168 projects worth approximately ₹9,668.27 crore
- Pratapgarh: 1,092 projects worth approximately ₹2,053.36 crore
- Fatehpur: 521 projects worth approximately ₹3,378.37 crore
- Kaushambi: 313 projects worth approximately ₹915.13 crore
The Chief Minister directed officials to complete the foundation ceremonies of all approved projects by August 15 and begin construction work at the earliest.
Prayagraj to Get 874 New Roads Under Major Infrastructure Push
A major portion of the development plan focuses on improving road connectivity in Prayagraj.
The Public Works Department will construct 874 new roads across all 12 assembly constituencies of Prayagraj.
Key details include:
- Total length of new roads: 1,346.36 km
- Estimated cost: More than ₹1,074 crore
Apart from new roads, 34 existing roads will undergo widening and strengthening work.
These projects will cover more than 430 km and involve an estimated expenditure of over ₹1,245.83 crore.
20 Major Bridges and 108 Small Bridges Planned
To improve connectivity and transportation facilities, several bridge projects have also been approved.
The plan includes:
- Construction of 20 major bridges with a length of more than 60 metres
- Construction of 108 small bridges and culverts
The construction of major bridges will be carried out through the Uttar Pradesh State Bridge Corporation Limited and is expected to involve an investment of more than ₹4,145 crore.
The small bridge projects will require an estimated expenditure of over ₹157 crore.
Five New Helipads and Other Infrastructure Projects Approved
The development plan also includes the construction of five new helipads in different tehsils of Prayagraj.
The project will require an estimated investment of around ₹1.96 crore.
Other approved works include:
- Six flyovers and bypass projects
- 106 road safety improvement works
- 15 building construction projects
These initiatives aim to improve transportation facilities, safety, and public infrastructure across the region.
CM Yogi Directs Faster Implementation of Approved Projects
CM Yogi Adityanath instructed officials to ensure that all approved projects move quickly from planning to execution.
He emphasised timely completion of development works and directed departments to coordinate with local representatives for effective implementation.
PWD officials said that all proposed projects submitted by the department have received approval from the Chief Minister. Work will begin rapidly once funds are allocated.
Development Plan to Strengthen Connectivity and Growth in Prayagraj Region
The ₹16,015 crore infrastructure package is expected to significantly improve road networks, transportation facilities, and public infrastructure in Prayagraj and neighbouring districts.
Officials stated that additional proposals received from public representatives will also be included in the future development plan and sent to the government for approval.
With large-scale investment in roads, bridges, safety infrastructure, and connectivity projects, the initiative aims to accelerate economic growth and improve mobility across the Prayagraj division.
