Prayagraj: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the newly developed Prerna Park on the banks of the Yamuna in Prayagraj and unveiled the statues of three prominent national figures — Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee, former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, and former Vishva Hindu Parishad international president Ashok Singhal.
During his visit to Prayagraj on July 6, the Chief Minister also flagged off the Nauka Ekta Race, inaugurated the 37th National Kayaking Championship, and reviewed Public Works Department (PWD) projects in the city.
CM Yogi Highlights Contribution of National Leaders at Prerna Park Inauguration
Addressing the gathering after inaugurating Prerna Park near the Boat Club area, CM Yogi Adityanath highlighted the contributions of Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, and Ashok Singhal towards national unity, governance, and cultural movements.
The Chief Minister said that India’s identity is deeply connected with Sanatan Dharma and described Lord Ram as the spiritual foundation of Indian culture.
He said the newly developed park will inspire future generations by remembering the lives and contributions of these national personalities.

Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee’s Vision of One Nation Remembered
CM Yogi recalled the role of Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee, founder of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh, in strengthening India’s unity and integrity.
He said Dr Mookerjee served as a minister in the first Cabinet of independent India and later resigned from his position due to differences on national issues before establishing the Bharatiya Jana Sangh.
The Chief Minister highlighted Dr Mookerjee’s slogan of “One nation, one constitution, one flag” and said his vision was realised after the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir.
CM Yogi stated that Dr Mookerjee worked to protect India’s unity and opposed attempts to divide the country.
CM Yogi Praises Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s Political Legacy
Speaking about former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, CM Yogi said he created an exceptional example of political stability and integrity in independent India.
He said Vajpayee served the nation for nearly six decades as a parliamentarian, minister, and Prime Minister, while maintaining a spotless public image.
The Chief Minister praised Vajpayee’s governance model focused on the development of villages, farmers, poor citizens, and youth.
Ashok Singhal’s Role in Ram Janmabhoomi Movement Highlighted
CM Yogi also remembered Ashok Singhal’s contribution to the Ram Janmabhoomi movement and his efforts to unite saints across the country.
He said the movement became one of India’s biggest cultural movements and that Ashok Singhal played a significant role in bringing religious leaders together on a common platform.
The Chief Minister described his life as an example of dedication, sacrifice, and service towards society and the nation.
Prayagraj Described as Land of Equality and Social Harmony
CM Yogi called Prayagraj a land of equality and social harmony with immense spiritual and historical importance.
He referred to the connection between Maharishi Bharadwaj and Lord Ram, highlighting the city’s significance in Indian traditions.
The Chief Minister said that people from different communities, regions, and languages come together at the Triveni Sangam, representing the spirit of unity and equality.
CM Yogi Highlights Success of Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj
During his address, CM Yogi praised the successful organisation of the grand and divine Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 in Prayagraj.
He said around 66 crore devotees from India and across the world participated in the event and appreciated the cooperation of local residents in making it successful.
The Chief Minister also praised the municipal corporation’s ‘Shivalik Park’, created using scrap materials during Maha Kumbh, calling it an excellent example of the waste-to-wealth concept.
New Development Projects Announced for Prayagraj

Dr Rajendra Prasad National Law University
The Chief Minister informed that the construction of Dr. Rajendra Prasad National Law University, named after India’s first President Dr Rajendra Prasad, has been almost completed and academic classes have already started.
New Bridge Over Ganga River
CM Yogi announced that for the first time in Uttar Pradesh’s history, a budget of ₹1,000 crore has been approved for a bridge over the Ganga River. The project is expected to improve connectivity and strengthen transportation links in the region.
Government Focuses on Prayagraj’s Cultural and Infrastructure Growth
The Chief Minister said that the Uttar Pradesh government is working to develop Prayagraj as a centre of culture, spirituality, and modern infrastructure. From heritage conservation and religious tourism to improved connectivity and educational institutions, multiple projects are being implemented to strengthen the city’s future development.
The inauguration of Prerna Park and unveiling of statues of three national leaders marks another step towards preserving historical contributions while inspiring future generations.
