New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Sunday participated in a collective listening session of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’ programme in Malviya Nagar and distributed bicycles to 15 meritorious and economically weaker girl students to promote education and women empowerment.
The event, titled ‘Viksit Malviya Nagar Sankalp Samaroh’, was held at the NCUI Auditorium on Sri Aurobindo Marg and witnessed the presence of New Delhi MP Bansuri Swaraj, Malviya Nagar MLA Satish Upadhyay, social workers, students and local residents.
Bicycles Distributed to Promote Girls’ Education and Empowerment
During the programme, the Chief Minister distributed bicycles provided through the Uma Niranjan Foundation to 15 girl students. She said that access to education is a fundamental right and financial constraints should not become a barrier for any student.
She emphasized that empowering girls through education and self-reliance is key to building confidence and a stronger society.
Focus on ‘Viksit Delhi’ Vision
CM Rekha Gupta said the government is committed to building a “Viksit Delhi” by improving education, healthcare, infrastructure, sports and cultural development. She added that active citizen participation and strong local governance are essential for achieving this goal.
She also inaugurated an exhibition showcasing development works in the Malviya Nagar Assembly constituency and reviewed ongoing infrastructure and welfare projects in the area.
Appeal for Bird Welfare Amid Summer Heat
During the event, the Chief Minister installed water pots for birds and appealed to citizens to place water for birds and animals during the extreme summer season.
She said caring for living beings during harsh weather is a shared social responsibility and encouraged residents to contribute to environmental compassion efforts.
Youth Engagement and Community Development
CM Rekha Gupta highlighted that such initiatives provide constructive opportunities for youth, helping them develop skills, adopt healthy lifestyles, and build leadership qualities.
She reiterated that the government is focused on holistic development of Delhi, including better public services, improved infrastructure, and inclusive growth.
The programme in Malviya Nagar reflected the Delhi government’s focus on education, women empowerment and community participation. Under the leadership of CM Rekha Gupta, the administration continues to push initiatives aligned with the broader vision of a developed and inclusive Delhi.
