New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Sunday launched development projects worth around ₹100 crore in the Dwarka Assembly constituency, aimed at strengthening basic civic infrastructure and improving the quality of life for residents.
The initiative focuses on upgrading roads, drainage, sewer systems, parks, and power infrastructure across the region.
Focus on Better Civic Amenities and Modern Infrastructure
Addressing the public event, Rekha Gupta said the government is working under the vision of “Developed Delhi” with guidance from Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
She emphasized that the aim is not only large-scale projects but also ensuring that essential services reach every colony, street, and household in the capital.
Key Development Works Launched in Dwarka
The projects inaugurated in Dwarka include several important civic upgrades such as:
- Repair and construction of roads across multiple areas
- Renovation and modernization of community chaupals
- Strengthening of drainage systems
- Beautification and green development of parks
- Laying of new sewer pipelines
- Upgradation of electricity transformers
- Replacement of old power cables
Officials said these works are designed to address long-standing infrastructure issues in the area.
Expected Relief from Waterlogging and Sewer Issues
The Chief Minister said that after completion of these projects, residents will see significant improvement in problems like:
- Waterlogging during rains
- Damaged and broken roads
- Sewer overflow
- Power supply disruptions
She added that the developments will ensure a cleaner, safer, and more convenient urban environment.
Metro Expansion and Long-Term Connectivity Plans
Rekha Gupta also highlighted upcoming infrastructure expansion in Dwarka, noting that the area will benefit from a ₹6,200 crore metro project under Phase-5 of the Delhi Metro expansion.
She said the government has released ₹10,000 crore to accelerate metro development, ensuring better connectivity across the capital.
Push for Regularisation and Basic Services
The Chief Minister noted that the government has taken steps to resolve issues in unauthorized colonies, including property regularisation and registration challenges that had remained pending for years.
She added that the administration is actively working to extend basic facilities such as water supply, sewer networks, and roads to underserved areas.
Toward a Cleaner and Better-Connected Dwarka
The ₹100 crore development push in Dwarka marks a significant step toward improving urban infrastructure in Delhi. Officials said the initiative will help transform the area into a more modern, well-connected, and livable urban constituency.
