New Delhi: The Ministry of Railways has approved the extension of deputation tenure of Atul Kumar, IRSE, with the Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited (DFCCIL).
As per the Railway Board order, Atul Kumar’s deputation as Chief General Manager/CO/DDU, DFCCIL has been extended for his fourth and fifth years, up to September 1, 2027, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
The extension is subject to DFCCIL receiving an exemption from the rule of immediate absorption.
Atul Kumar’s DFCCIL Deputation Extended Up to September 2027
The Railway Board has communicated the sanction of the competent authority for extending Atul Kumar’s deputation tenure with DFCCIL.
Key details include:
- Officer: Atul Kumar, IRSE
- Former position: ADRM/DDU, East Central Railway
- Current role: CGM/CO/DDU, DFCCIL
- Deputation extension: Fourth and fifth year
- Extended up to: September 1, 2027
- Condition: Subject to DFCCIL receiving exemption from the rule of immediate absorption
- Date of birth: September 23, 1969
- Date of joining service: April 28, 1997
The extension will continue under the existing terms and conditions of his deputation.

Railway Board Refers to Earlier Deputation Order
The latest decision follows the Railway Board’s earlier communication regarding Atul Kumar’s deputation.
The order refers to the Ministry of Railways’ letter dated September 14, 2022, concerning his deputation with DFCCIL.
With the latest approval, his tenure will continue through the fourth and fifth years, subject to the conditions specified by the Railway Board.
Repatriation Rules Specified by Railway Board
The Railway Board has also laid down directions regarding Atul Kumar’s return to Railway service after completion of his deputation.
According to the order, if the officer does not return to Railway service within one month of completion of his deputation tenure, it will be deemed that he has resigned from Railway service.
At the time of repatriation, the concerned authorities have also been directed to forward:
- The officer’s vigilance position/clearance for the deputation period
- The relieving order along with the required documentation
These provisions will apply as per the conditions specified in the deputation order.
Atul Kumar to Continue as CGM/CO/DDU in DFCCIL
Following the extension, Atul Kumar will continue to serve as CGM/CO/DDU, DFCCIL, until September 1, 2027, unless further orders are issued earlier.
The extension allows DFCCIL to retain his experience and administrative expertise for the continued execution and management of its dedicated freight corridor operations.
