DVC Donates 2 Ambulances in Koderma to Boost Rural Emergency Healthcare Services Under CSR Initiative

In collaboration with NGO Pehchan, Damodar Valley Corporation strengthens healthcare access in Jharkhand by enhancing emergency response facilities for underserved communities.

Koderma: Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) has taken a significant step toward improving rural healthcare infrastructure by donating two ambulances under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative in Koderma, Jharkhand. The initiative, implemented in collaboration with the NGO Pehchan, aims to enhance emergency medical response and expand access to timely healthcare services in underserved regions.

Ambulances Handed Over to Support Rural Healthcare

The ambulances were formally handed over by Mr. Sanjay Kumar, Chief General Manager (CGM) and Head of Project (HOP), KTPS, to Smt. Annapurna Devi, Hon’ble Union Cabinet Minister for Women and Child Development. The handover ceremony took place at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office in Koderma.

Officials noted that the initiative is designed to strengthen emergency response systems, particularly in rural and remote areas where access to timely medical transportation is often limited.

Collaboration with NGO Pehchan for Service Delivery

The donated ambulances will be operated by the NGO Pehchan, which focuses on improving healthcare access for vulnerable communities. The organization will play a key role in ensuring that emergency medical services reach people in need without delay.

The partnership highlights a collaborative model where public sector enterprises and civil society organizations work together to address critical gaps in healthcare delivery.

Participation of Dignitaries and Officials

The event was attended by several prominent figures, including Mr. Amit Yadav, Hon’ble MLA from Bharkhatta. Senior officials from DVC were also present, including:

  • Mr. Tapas Mirdha, General Manager (AHM)
  • Mr. Francis Hembrom, Deputy General Manager (HR)

Their presence underscored institutional support for the CSR-driven healthcare initiative and its importance for regional development.

Focus on Community Welfare and Healthcare Access

DVC stated that the initiative reflects its ongoing commitment to community development and improving the quality of life in areas where it operates. By providing critical healthcare infrastructure such as ambulances, the organization aims to ensure faster medical assistance for vulnerable populations.

The project is expected to reduce delays in emergency response and improve survival outcomes in critical situations, especially in rural parts of Koderma.

Strengthening Healthcare Infrastructure Through CSR

Through this initiative, DVC continues to reinforce its role in supporting social development beyond its core operations. The organization’s CSR efforts focus on bridging infrastructure gaps in healthcare, education, and community welfare.
