New Delhi: In a move aimed at strengthening fertiliser availability across key agricultural regions, Fertilisers and Chemicals Travancore Limited (FACT) and Hindustan Urvarak and Rasayan Limited (HURL) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the financial year 2026–27.

The agreement was formalised by senior leadership from both organisations, reinforcing coordinated efforts to improve fertiliser distribution and supply chain efficiency.

Target of 1.10 Lakh Metric Tonnes Fertiliser Supply

Under the MoU, both public sector companies will jointly ensure the availability of 1.10 lakh metric tonnes (LMT) of fertilisers across their operational regions during FY 2026–27.

The initiative is designed to:

  • Strengthen fertiliser supply chains
  • Ensure timely availability during peak agricultural seasons
  • Support farmers across priority regions
  • Improve distribution efficiency

Boost to PSU Collaboration in Fertiliser Sector

The partnership reflects stronger coordination between government-backed fertiliser producers to enhance operational efficiency and reduce supply disruptions.

Officials stated that the collaboration will help stabilise fertiliser availability during critical farming periods, directly benefiting the agriculture sector.

Focus on Sustainable and Balanced Nutrition

The agreement is also aligned with the government’s broader push for balanced nutrient management and sustainable agriculture practices, including initiatives such as PM PRANAM.

By combining expertise and resources, both organisations aim to improve efficiency and deliver long-term value to India’s farming community.

Strengthening Agricultural Productivity and Food Security

This strategic MoU highlights continued cooperation in the fertiliser sector to support national food security goals and enhance agricultural productivity through reliable input supply.
