Maharatna PSU GAIL (India) Limited has furthered its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts by launching two Mobile Medical Units (MMUs) and donating an advanced life support ambulance to AIIMS, New Delhi. The MMUs were flagged off by Member of Parliament, Mr. Bansuri Swaraj, in a ceremony on Thursday. Mr. Ayush Gupta, Director (HR) of GAIL, Dr. M. Srinivas, Director of AIIMS, and Dr. Nirupam Madaan, Medical Superintendent of AIIMS, were also present.
The MMUs are part of GAIL’s “Project Arogya,” aimed at providing free primary healthcare services to underprivileged communities. Each unit, equipped with GPS tracking and staffed by qualified medical teams, will serve about 80 patients daily, offering consultations, medicines, diagnostic tests, and low-cost sanitary napkins.
The MMUs also conduct health awareness campaigns and education on hygiene and behavior change through the ADCR (Awareness, Diagnosis, Cure, and Referral) model. These services benefit the elderly and physically challenged, easing access to healthcare.
With 50 MMUs operational across 25 districts in 12 states, the addition of these units strengthens GAIL’s commitment to expanding healthcare access. GAIL also donated an advanced life support ambulance to AIIMS, New Delhi.
