The flight will arrive at Dehradun Airport every day at 4:00 PM and depart for Bengaluru at 4:30 PM. On its inaugural run, the flight brought 143 passengers to Dehradun and carried 115 passengers to Bengaluru.

Enhanced Air Connectivity for Youth, Entrepreneurs, and Tourists

Speaking at the event, Mr. Dhami emphasized the strategic importance of this direct flight. He noted that Bengaluru is a major hub for information technology, start-ups, and education, and the new route will offer convenience to the youth, entrepreneurs, IT professionals, and tourists traveling between the two cities.

Mr. Dhami highlighted that the new service connects Uttarakhand to 18 other cities through Bengaluru, further strengthening the civil aviation network.

Developmental Push Under Prime Minister’s Vision

The Chief Minister also outlined the broader aviation development strategy in Uttarakhand under the guidance of Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi. He announced that the state is currently developing 18 heliports, of which 12 are already operational. These projects aim to strengthen regional air infrastructure and improve disaster response capabilities in remote and hilly areas.

“We are committed to connecting Uttarakhand with global air networks. Enhanced air services in the hills will serve as a lifeline during emergencies and natural disasters,” said Mr. Dhami.

Cultural Highlight: Apad Art Adorns the Aircraft

Adding a local cultural touch, the Air India Express aircraft flying to Bengaluru was decorated with Apad art, showcasing Uttarakhand’s rich heritage.

Several notable personalities attended the launch event, including Member of Parliament Ms. Mala Rajyalakshmi Shah from Tehri, Doiwala MLA Mr. Brij Bhushan Gaurola, Air India Express Managing Director Mr. Alok Singh, and CEO of Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority Mr. Ashish Chauhan.
