Maharashtra Government gave the charge of the BMC house of 227 corporators to Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation Chief I S Chahal on Tuesday. The post of Administrator has a lot of importance as all powers of the house of corporators are vested in it. Mr. Chahal is directed to join with immediate effect. He is an IAS officer of 1989 batch who has been the Principal Secretary of Urban Development Department before taking over as the Chief of BMC.
