Gurugram: In the wake of the recent Pahalgam terror attack on April 22 and rising security concerns nationwide, the Deputy Commissioner of Gurugram and 2013 batch IAS officer Ajay Kumar has issued a stringent order under Section 163 of the Bhartiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, prohibiting the use of various aerial and celebratory objects across the district from May 9 to July 7, 2025.
As per the official notification, the following items are strictly banned:
- Drones
- Micro Light Aircrafts
- Gliders and Power Gliders
- Hot Air Balloons
- Kite Flying
- Chinese Micro Lights
- Fireworks and Firecrackers (during any celebration)

The order emphasizes that violations will invite legal action under Section 223 of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023. The move is aimed at preventing public panic and ensuring law and order amid the sensitive security climate.
“This step is necessary to maintain peace and public safety. Citizens are urged to stay vigilant and cooperate with authorities,” said DC Ajay Kumar.
The administration also appealed to residents to rely on official updates and refrain from activities that may cause unnecessary alarm or disruption.
