Chandigarh: In a major push towards digital participation in Census 2027, H. Rajesh Prasad, an IAS officer of the 1995 batch belonging to the AGMUT cadre and Chief Secretary of UT Chandigarh, successfully completed his self-enumeration through the official online Census portal, setting an example for citizens to adopt the digital mode of participation.
Senior Officials Lead Digital Initiative
The self-enumeration process was facilitated by Navjot Khosa, Director, Directorate of Census Operations, UT Chandigarh, and Nishant Kumar Yadav, Deputy Commissioner-cum-Principal Census Officer.

Both officers have also successfully completed their own self-enumeration, reinforcing the administration’s commitment to promoting digital governance.

The Directorate of Census Operations, UT Chandigarh, along with the district administration, has put in place several measures to ensure seamless participation:
- Dedicated toll-free helpline (1855) for assistance
- Technical support for resolving user queries
- Awareness initiatives to encourage digital participation
Citizens have been encouraged to visit the official Census portal and complete their self-enumeration within the stipulated timeframe.
Data Privacy and Security Assured
Authorities have assured that all information collected through the self-enumeration process will remain strictly confidential and will be used solely for statistical purposes, in line with provisions of the Census Act.
