New Delhi: NLC India Limited (NLCIL) organised a Contractors’ Meet on September 1, 2026, as part of the Vigilance Awareness Campaign 2026. Organised by Central Contracts–Thermal, the meeting provided a platform for contractors to raise their concerns, queries and suggestions related to contract execution and operational matters.
The event focused on strengthening transparency, accountability and coordination between NLC India and its contractors, while facilitating the timely resolution of stakeholder concerns.
NLC India Holds Contractors’ Meet Under Vigilance Campaign
The Contractors’ Meet was organised at the Yegneswaran Auditorium, L&DC, Neyveli.
The programme brought together NLC India officials and contractors to discuss issues related to contract execution, payments, labour welfare and other operational matters.
The initiative provided an opportunity for contractors to directly share their feedback and seek clarification on issues affecting their work.

Chief Vigilance Officer Stresses Transparency and Grievance Redressal
Thiru Appakannu Govindarajan, IPoS, Chief Vigilance Officer, NLCIL, addressed the gathering and highlighted the importance of regular interaction with stakeholders.
He stressed the need for effective grievance redressal mechanisms and greater transparency in contract execution and bill processing.
He also emphasised the importance of ensuring timely wage payments, along with continued engagement between NLC India and its contractors.
NLCIL Director Highlights Better Contract Planning
Samir Swarup, Director (Human Resources) and Director (Power) (Additional Charge), NLCIL, highlighted the importance of proper planning while preparing and executing contracts.
He stressed the need for:
- Proper planning of contracts
- Clear definition of the scope of work
- Appropriate eligibility criteria
- Wider participation of prospective contractors
- Healthy competition in the contracting process
These measures are expected to contribute to more efficient contract execution while encouraging greater participation and competition.
