Bengaluru: The Karnataka government on Monday carried out a fresh administrative reshuffle, transferring seven IAS officers and assigning them to new responsibilities.
The reshuffle is significant as it strengthens the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) with the appointment of two officers—Nakul S S (IAS:2010:KN) as Secretary to the Chief Minister and Yatish R (IAS:2021:KN) as Deputy Secretary-1 to the Chief Minister.
Besides the key CMO appointments, several officers have been entrusted with additional or concurrent charges in important departments, including Finance, Tourism, Skill Development and Rural Development.
Two Officers Move to Chief Minister’s Office
Among the most notable changes in the reshuffle is the induction of two officers into the Chief Minister’s Office.
Nakul S S (IAS:2010:KN), who was serving as Secretary (Expenditure), Finance Department, has been transferred and posted as Secretary to the Chief Minister, Government of Karnataka.
Meanwhile, Yatish R (IAS:2021:KN), serving as Chief Executive Officer, Zilla Panchayat, Bengaluru Urban District, has been transferred and appointed as Deputy Secretary-1 to the Chief Minister. He will continue to hold the concurrent charge of CEO, Zilla Panchayat, Bengaluru Urban District.
Finance Department Gets Additional Responsibilities
The Finance Department has also witnessed important changes.
Abhiram G. Sankar (IAS:2011:KN), currently Managing Director of Karnataka Mining Environment Restoration Corporation (KMERC), has been entrusted with the concurrent charge of Additional Secretary (Expenditure), Finance Department, along with the additional responsibility of Secretary (Expenditure), Finance Department.
His appointment comes following the transfer of Nakul S S to the Chief Minister’s Office.
Tourism Department Sees Dual Assignments
The Tourism Department has also undergone administrative changes.
Dr Ram Prasath Manohar V (IAS:2010:KN), who serves as Managing Director of Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited (KPTCL), has been assigned the concurrent charge of Secretary, Tourism Department.
Additionally, Shivaprasad PR (IAS:2013:KN), currently Managing Director of Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation (KSTDC), has been given the concurrent charge of Commissioner of Tourism.
Skill Development Sector Gets New Responsibilities
Patil Yalagouda Shivanagouda (IAS:2012:KN), Executive Director of Suvarna Arogya Suraksha Trust, has been assigned two additional responsibilities.
He will now concurrently serve as:
- Managing Director, Karnataka Skill Development Corporation.
- Managing Director, Karnataka Vocational Training and Skill Development Corporation.
The move is aimed at strengthening the state’s skill development and vocational training ecosystem.
Posting for Officer Awaiting Assignment
The government has also issued a fresh posting order for Shaikh Tanveer Asif (IAS:2017:KN), who had been awaiting posting.
He has now been appointed as Director, Abdul Nazir Sab State Institute of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj (ANSSIRD), Mysuru.

- Shaikh Tanveer Asif (IAS:2017:KN): Awaiting posting → Director, ANSSIRD, Mysuru.
- Yatish R (IAS:2021:KN): CEO, Zilla Panchayat, Bengaluru Urban → Deputy Secretary-1 to the Chief Minister, while retaining concurrent charge as CEO.
The latest reshuffle is expected to further strengthen the administrative functioning of the Chief Minister’s Office while ensuring continuity in key departments through concurrent charge arrangements.
