New Delhi: Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) reported record CNG and PNG sales volumes for Financial Year 2025-26 while highlighting network expansion, financial performance, customer-focused initiatives and future growth plans at its 27th Annual General Meeting (AGM) held virtually in New Delhi.
Addressing shareholders, Subhankar Sen, Chairman, IGL, said the company achieved record sales volumes despite challenges in global energy markets arising from geopolitical tensions, particularly in West Asia, and disruptions in key energy supply routes.
During the fiscal year, IGL added 70 new CNG stations, taking its total CNG station network to 1,024, while more than 3.70 lakh new domestic PNG connections were added. The company also expanded its commercial and industrial customer base.
IGL Records 9.39 MMSCMD Sales Volume in FY26
IGL achieved a record sales volume of 9.39 Million Metric Standard Cubic Meters per Day (MMSCMD) during FY 2025-26.
Despite volatility in global energy prices and uncertainty surrounding energy availability, the company reported strong sales volumes and profitability.

The consolidated PAT of ₹1,543 crore includes the contribution from IGL’s associate companies, Central UP Gas Limited (CUGL) and Maharashtra Natural Gas Limited (MNGL).
IGL Adds 3.7 Lakh PNG Connections and 70 CNG Stations
Network expansion remained a key focus area for IGL during FY26.
The company added more than 3.70 lakh domestic PNG connections, expanding access to piped natural gas for households across its operating areas. IGL also significantly increased its commercial and industrial customer base.
On the CNG side, IGL commissioned 70 new CNG stations during the year, taking the total number of CNG stations established by the company to 1,024.
The expansion is aimed at strengthening IGL’s city gas distribution infrastructure and supporting the growing demand for CNG and PNG.
IGL Plans 500 MW Solar Project With RVUNL
At the AGM, Subhankar Sen also outlined IGL’s future plans, including greater use of renewable energy in place of conventional grid power.
The company is exploring renewable energy options as part of its efforts to reduce carbon emissions and contribute towards its net-zero objectives.
IGL has signed a Joint Venture Agreement with Rajasthan Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (RVUNL) to establish a 500 MWp greenfield solar power plant.
In addition, IGL has floated a tender for setting up a 200 MW solar power plant in Rajasthan.

- Renewable energy integration: The company is exploring the use of renewable power instead of conventional grid electricity.
- GOBARdhan initiative: IGL sees the government initiative as having potential to complement the city gas distribution network and help reduce the carbon intensity of the energy mix.
IGL Expands Into Meter Manufacturing
As part of its backward integration strategy, IGL has established IGL Genesis Technologies Limited, a joint venture company focused on meter manufacturing.
Commercial production of meters has recently commenced.
The company is also exploring the possibility of acquiring stakes in existing city gas distribution companies, which could support its future expansion and growth strategy.
According to the company, these initiatives are expected to contribute to its long-term growth.
IGL Strengthens Technology-Based Customer Services
IGL also highlighted several technology-driven initiatives aimed at improving customer experience and operational efficiency.
The company has undertaken various measures across its customer operations, including:
- Enhancements in self-billing functionalities.
- Launch of the Dealer Owned Dealer Operated (DODO) portal.
- Kick-off of the Advanced Sales Force CRM system.
- Roll-out of spot billing across IGL’s geographical areas.
The spot-billing initiative enables on-the-spot bill generation and instant payments, improving customer convenience while also supporting faster revenue realisation.
IGL Conducts Over 575 Safety Camps
Health, safety and environmental protection continued to remain key priorities for IGL.
The company conducts regular safety audits and training programmes across its operations to maintain safety standards.
During FY26, IGL conducted more than 575 safety camps at customer locations for PNG consumers and at CNG stations for CNG customers.
IGL also received several recognitions for its safety and environmental performance, including:
- Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board Excellence Award 2025 for outstanding performance in Safety, Integrity and Technical Excellence.
- India HSE Summit & Awards 2025 in the Best Emergency Preparedness & Response category.
- Certificate of Appreciation for 2025 from the National Safety Council, India.
These recognitions highlight the company’s focus on safety and emergency preparedness across its operations.
IGL Board Recommends 75% Final Dividend
The IGL Board has recommended a final dividend of 75%, equivalent to ₹1.50 per share, for FY 2025-26.
This is in addition to the 162.5% interim dividend of ₹3.25 per share already paid for the financial year.

The company has more than 32,000 km of pipeline network and serves over 2.1 million CNG vehicles through more than 1,000 CNG stations. IGL has also connected more than three million households with PNG across its operating areas.
IGL Leadership Addresses Shareholders
During the 27th AGM, Subhankar Sen addressed shareholders and presented an overview of the company’s performance and future plans.
He was joined by Kumar Shanker, Managing Director, and Mohit Bhatia, Director (Commercial), who responded to questions raised by shareholders.
The AGM provided an overview of IGL’s financial performance, operational expansion, renewable energy plans, technology initiatives, safety measures and future growth strategy.
