Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission (UPSDM) has extended the deadline for online registration for the IndiaSkills Competition 2026-27 to September 22, 2026.
The mission has invited eligible youth interested in participating in the competition to complete their registration by the revised deadline through the Skill India Digital portal. Applicants can also register by scanning the QR code issued for the competition.
Competition to Progress From District to National Level
The IndiaSkills competition provides participants with a platform to demonstrate their technical and vocational skills. The competition is conducted through multiple stages:
- District level
- Divisional level
- State level
- Regional level
- National level

Participants who perform well at the national level may get an opportunity to represent India at international competitions.
The competition covers a range of skill areas, including artificial intelligence, robotics, 3D printing, Internet of Things (IoT), drones, coding, welding, and beauty and wellness, among others.
Cash Prizes at State and Regional Levels
Participants who secure top positions receive medals along with cash prizes.
At the state level, the prize amounts are:
- Gold medal: ₹20,000
- Silver medal: ₹15,000
- Bronze medal: ₹10,000
At the regional level, the prizes are:
- Gold medal: ₹75,000
- Silver medal: ₹50,000
- Bronze medal: ₹25,000
National-level performers receive higher prize amounts along with special recognition.
Training by Experts and Institutions
Participants receive training in their respective skill areas based on national and international standards. The training and preparation involve institutions such as IITs and industry experts.
Youth who perform strongly at the national level may subsequently get an opportunity to represent India at international competitions such as WorldSkills.
Opportunities for Trainers and Assessors
The IndiaSkills process also creates opportunities for experienced participants to contribute as trainers and assessors.
According to the Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission:
- Former national and international winners may get opportunities to work as trainers and assessors.
- Efforts are also being made to provide opportunities for high-performing participants to work as instructors in ITIs.
The UPSDM said the competition enables youth to demonstrate their skills and develop them in line with national and international standards.
