Ranchi: The Jharkhand government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Indian Bank to provide improved banking and digital services for state government employees and National Health Mission (NHM) workers. The agreement was signed in the presence of Chief Minister Hemant Soren at Project Bhavan in Ranchi.

The initiative aims to strengthen financial security and enhance banking convenience for government staff through specialized salary accounts and digital HR management systems.

Special Salary Account Packages and HRIS System Introduced

Under the agreement, a dedicated Salary Account Package will be offered to state government employees, while NHM workers will receive a customized Salary Account and HRIS (Human Resource Information System) package.

Officials stated that the HRIS system will help streamline salary processing and eliminate delays in payments, particularly for healthcare workers.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren said the initiative will significantly boost employee morale and ensure smoother administrative functioning in the digital era.

Focus on Employee Welfare and Financial Security

He added that such initiatives are crucial for strengthening the morale of frontline workers, especially those in the healthcare sector.

Finance Minister Calls for Stronger Social Responsibility from Banks

Finance Minister Radha Krishna Kishore highlighted the importance of banks fulfilling their social responsibilities. He urged financial institutions to actively support welfare schemes and improve loan approval processes under government programs.

He also expressed concern over the performance of certain banks in education-related schemes and warned that government deposits would be directed toward better-performing institutions.

The minister further directed that Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds should be utilized within Jharkhand for local development.

Health Department to Implement HRIS for Timely Payments

Health Minister Dr. Irfan Ansari appreciated the initiative and announced that the health department is preparing to implement the HRIS system. He said the move will ensure timely salary payments for nearly 15,000 health workers and eliminate administrative delays.

He added that safeguarding the future and well-being of healthcare workers remains a top priority for the government.

Indian Bank Expands Presence in Jharkhand

Indian Bank Managing Director Vinod Kumar stated that the bank currently operates across all 24 districts of Jharkhand with 171 branches and 91 ATMs. He also announced plans to open 10 new branches in the state this year. CM Highlights Importance of Digital Banking Integration

Chief Minister Hemant Soren said the COVID-19 pandemic highlighted the importance of a strong healthcare system and efficient digital infrastructure. He noted that increasing digital integration in banking services will benefit employees and improve administrative efficiency.

He encouraged employees to make full use of the new salary and HRIS packages and extended his best wishes for the initiative.
