Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav celebrated Shri Krishna Janmashtami at his official residence with devotional songs, Maharasa and a traditional matki-breaking ceremony. Children dressed as Radha and Krishna participated in the celebrations. The Chief Minister held Bal Gopal in his arms, broke the matki and fed children makhan-mishri.
Public representatives, citizens and members of the saint community also attended the programme.
Krishna’s Life Offers Lessons
CM Yadav said Lord Krishna’s life continues to offer lessons in courage, resilience and education. Referring to his birth in prison and various episodes from his life, including Kaliya Mardan, the defeat of Kansa and challenging Indra’s pride, he said Krishna showed how difficulties can be overcome.
The Chief Minister also highlighted Krishna’s education at Sandeepani Ashram in Ujjain and his friendship with Sudama. He said Krishna’s personality was shaped through knowledge of 64 arts and 14 branches of learning.

MP to Highlight Krishna’s Cultural Legacy
Dr. Yadav said Madhya Pradesh would develop pilgrimage destinations associated with Lord Krishna’s life and bring the state’s cultural heritage alive.
He mentioned Ujjain, Janapav, Amjhera near Dhar and Narayan near Mahidpur as places associated with different episodes of Krishna’s life. Similar efforts are also being undertaken at places connected with Lord Ram.
The CM said festivals should go beyond holidays and help the younger generation understand India’s cultural traditions. He added that the government had started participating in major festivals through official programmes and called for more research into the lives of revered figures.
CM Praises India’s Growing Global Strength
Dr. Yadav said India is emerging as an economic power under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. He highlighted India’s values of humanity and Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam and said the country should continue presenting its Sanatan cultural traditions to the world.
Citing growth figures, he said India’s growth rate stood at 7.8 per cent, compared with 2 per cent for the US and 4 per cent for China. He also said India would continue to protect its national interests while engaging with global powers.
The Chief Minister concluded by saying that while Lord Ram is smiling in Ayodhya, Lord Krishna will smile in Mathura in the future.
