New Delhi: The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has appointed two Indian Police Service (IPS) officers, Vivek Raj Singh and Vikram M Khalate, as Deputy Directors General (DDGs) in the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on deputation for a period of five years.
The appointments have been made in Level-14 of the Pay Matrix and will take effect from the date the officers assume charge of their respective posts or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Vivek Raj Singh Appointed NCB Deputy Director General
Vivek Raj Singh, a 2006-batch IPS officer, has been appointed as Deputy Director General in the NCB.
He is currently serving as Inspector General of Police (IGP), Training & Armed Police (T&AP), Assam Police, in his parent cadre.

Before proceeding on central deputation, Khalate was serving as Inspector General of Police (IGP), Crime Investigation Department (CID), Nagaland.

NCB to Get Two Senior IPS Officers on Deputation
The appointments bring two experienced IPS officers from different state cadres into the Narcotics Control Bureau, India’s central agency responsible for coordinating and enforcing measures against illicit drug trafficking and related activities.
Both officers will take charge of their new responsibilities from the date of assumption of charge, subject to the terms of the MHA order.
The appointments are for five years on deputation, unless modified or ended earlier through further orders.
