Bhopal: The ‘Nari Shakti Vandan Sammelan’ was Organized in Bhopal’s Ravindra Bhavan, highlighting women empowerment and leadership across the state. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav inaugurated the event and emphasized the growing role of women in governance and nation-building.
The event brought together women from various fields who praised the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and expressed confidence in the strengthening of democracy through the proposed Nari Shakti Vandan Act.
CM Mohan Yadav Emphasizes Women-Led Governance
Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that when governance is in the hands of women, efficiency and positive outcomes naturally follow. He credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for taking bold decisions that have empowered women across India.
He highlighted key reforms such as the abolition of triple talaq and said that such steps have strengthened the position of women in society.

Meritorious Girl Students Felicitated
During the event, the Chief Minister honoured top-performing girl students from the state board examinations:
- Khushi Rai and Chandni Vishwakarma from Bhopal (Higher Secondary toppers)
- Pratibha Singh Solanki from Panna district (High School topper)
The recognition aimed to encourage academic excellence among girls and promote education as a key pillar of empowerment.
Women Reservation and Leadership Opportunities
Speakers at the event highlighted the importance of the proposed 33% reservation for women in Lok Sabha and state assemblies, stating that it would significantly increase women’s participation in policymaking.
State leaders emphasized that greater representation would lead to stronger and more inclusive governance.

16 April to Mark Celebration of Women Empowerment
CM Mohan Yadav announced that April 16 will be celebrated as a special day symbolizing women empowerment, likening it to a festive occasion where “Holi and Diwali will be celebrated together.”
He also highlighted the contribution of prominent women leaders such as Sumitra Mahajan and Vijaya Raje Scindia in shaping Indian politics.
Ministers Stress Inclusive Growth and Social Responsibility
State Minister Krishna Gaur described the event as a “thought journey” aimed at strengthening women’s role in society. She emphasized that the passage of the women’s reservation bill has been a long-standing effort since the 1996s.
Women and Child Development Minister Nirmala Bhuria stated that the implementation of the Nari Shakti Vandan Act will provide women with leadership opportunities and ensure their active participation in governance.

Cultural and Historical Significance of Women Highlighted
Speakers also reflected on the historical contributions of women in India, citing figures like Ahilyabai Holkar, Rani Durgavati, and Savitribai Phule as inspirations.
They emphasized the importance of education, values, and empowerment in building a stronger society, noting that women play a central role in shaping families and communities.
