Bihar: Motihari DM Saurabh Suman Yadav Orders Online UPSC Classes After Surprise Hostel Inspection

During a surprise inspection of Dr. Ambedkar Welfare Hostels in Motihari, District Magistrate Saurabh Suman Yadav directed officials to begin online UPSC classes, provide competitive exam books and improve hostel facilities following students' requests.

In a move aimed at strengthening educational support for students from welfare hostels, Motihari District Magistrate Saurabh Suman Yadav, an IAS officer of 2019 batch, on Monday conducted a surprise inspection of Dr. Ambedkar Welfare Hostels No. 01 and No. 02 at Chandmari and directed officials to start online UPSC coaching classes following requests from students.

During the inspection, the District Magistrate reviewed the hostels’ cleanliness, accommodation facilities and overall living conditions. He interacted with students, heard their grievances firsthand and assured them that their concerns would be addressed without delay.

DM Reviews Hostel Facilities, Orders Immediate Action

The District Magistrate instructed District Welfare Officer Santosh Kumar Pandey to ensure the immediate resolution of all issues raised during the inspection.

Emphasising the importance of a conducive learning environment, he said the hostels should provide students with peaceful surroundings where they can focus on academics and prepare for a brighter future.

Saurabh Suman Yadav also encouraged students to pursue their studies with dedication, discipline and hard work to achieve success in their chosen careers.

Online UPSC Coaching to Begin on Students’ Request

Responding positively to the aspirations of hostel residents, the District Magistrate directed the concerned officials to make arrangements for online UPSC coaching classes.

He also instructed them to ensure the availability of books and study materials required for civil services and other competitive examinations.

The District Magistrate said the administration would extend every possible support to students preparing for competitive examinations so that talented youth from the hostels receive quality guidance and learning resources.

100-Bed Hostel Building Reviewed

During the visit, Saurabh Suman Yadav also inspected the new 100-bed hostel building under construction within the campus.

He directed officials to expedite the remaining construction work and ensure that the building is completed and handed over at the earliest. Once operational, the new facility is expected to accommodate more students and improve hostel infrastructure.

Regular Monitoring Ordered

To ensure proper maintenance and smooth functioning of the hostels, the District Magistrate instructed the District Welfare Officer and the hostel coordinator to carry out regular inspections.

He stressed that continuous monitoring would help maintain cleanliness, improve facilities and promptly resolve any issues faced by students.

Senior Officials Join Inspection

The inspection was attended by several senior district officials, including:

  • Swarn Prabhat, Superintendent of Police
  • Rajkrishna Jha, Assistant Collector
  • Arun Kumar, Sadar Sub-Divisional Officer
  • Other district officials and a large number of hostel students

The visit reflects the district administration’s focus on improving student welfare, strengthening hostel infrastructure and providing educational support to help aspiring candidates prepare for prestigious competitive examinations such as the UPSC Civil Services Examination.
