Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav on Friday said the state government will take all possible steps in the interest of guest faculty members serving in higher and technical education institutions after receiving recommendations from a high-level committee constituted to examine their demands.
Addressing the State-Level Guest Faculty Conference at Ravindra Bhavan, Bhopal, the Chief Minister said guest faculty members play a vital role in shaping the future of students and deserve recognition and support for their contribution to higher education.
High-Level Committee Formed to Review Guest Faculty Demands
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said the government has already constituted a high-level committee to examine all demands raised by guest faculty members working in higher education and technical education institutions across Madhya Pradesh.
The committee is studying the systems followed in other states to recommend the most suitable model for Madhya Pradesh. The Chief Minister assured that once the committee submits its report, the government will take all necessary and feasible decisions for the welfare of guest faculty.

Guest Faculty Are an Integral Part of the Education System
Describing guest faculty members as an important part of the state’s academic ecosystem, Dr. Yadav said they are not merely teachers but mentors who shape the future of young generations.
He emphasized that India’s ancient Guru-Shishya tradition remains the foundation of the country’s education system, and colleges continue to carry forward this legacy through dedicated educators.
During the conference, guest faculty members welcomed the Chief Minister by presenting him with a traditional shawl and a Tulsi plant, expressing gratitude for several welfare measures introduced by the state government.
MP Government Expanding Higher Education Infrastructure
The Chief Minister highlighted several initiatives undertaken to strengthen higher education in Madhya Pradesh.
He said the government has established one PM Shri Excellence College in every district and launched new government universities in Khargone, Guna, and Sagar.
The state is also introducing Sandipani Schools to improve school education while continuing to invest in higher and technical education.
Madhya Pradesh’s Gross Enrolment Ratio Surpasses National Average
Dr. Mohan Yadav said Madhya Pradesh has made remarkable progress in education over the past few years.
According to the Chief Minister, the state’s Gross Enrolment Ratio (GER) in higher education has now surpassed the national average. He also stated that the school dropout rate in Madhya Pradesh has effectively reached zero, reflecting improvements in the education sector.
Benefits Already Extended to Guest Faculty
The Chief Minister outlined several welfare measures already implemented for guest faculty members, including:
- 13 casual leaves and 3 optional holidays annually
- Maternity leave for women guest faculty
- Option to choose colleges closer to their residence
- 25% reservation for guest faculty in Assistant Professor recruitment through MPPSC
- 10-year age relaxation in Assistant Professor recruitment
He also informed that 117 guest faculty members were appointed as regular Assistant Professors in 2022, while 48 more secured regular appointments in 2024.
Education Minister Highlights Five Major Reforms
Higher Education, Technical Education and AYUSH Minister Inder Singh Parmar said the state government has already implemented five major reforms to safeguard the interests of guest faculty.
These include reservation in Assistant Professor recruitment, annual transfer opportunities, and providing two monthly opportunities for guest faculty who lose assignments due to fallout situations to regain employment.
He also praised the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) for consistently raising issues related to workers and education professionals.
Government Focused on Transparent and Inclusive Governance
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said the state government remains committed to transparent, sensitive, and people-centric governance despite various administrative challenges.
He added that several policy decisions are being taken to ensure the overall development of Madhya Pradesh while improving welfare across all sections of society.
CM Calls for Drug-Free Madhya Pradesh by 2029
During his address, the Chief Minister also appealed to guest faculty members and youth to actively participate in the state’s campaign against substance abuse.
He said Madhya Pradesh has become free from the challenge of Naxalism under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the guidance of Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
Dr. Yadav said the next mission is to make Madhya Pradesh completely drug-free by 2029, in line with the national vision of a Drug-Free India, and urged citizens to work together to achieve this goal.
State-Level Conference Witnessed Participation of Senior Officials
The conference was attended by Higher Education Additional Chief Secretary Anupam Rajan, Principal Secretary (Technical Education) Manish Singh, Director of MP Hindi Granth Academy Dr. Ashok Kadel, representatives of the State Guest Faculty Association, including B.L. Dohare, Dr. Devaraj Singh, and Dr. Surjeet Singh Bhadauria, along with a large number of guest faculty members from higher and technical education institutions across Madhya Pradesh.
