Kalapipal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav on July 9 launched and laid the foundation stone of multiple development projects worth ₹30.86 crore in Kalapipal, Shajapur district. Addressing the Kisan Samriddhi Sankalp Sammelan, the Chief Minister also inaugurated the “Hara-Bhara Kalapipal” plantation campaign and announced new roads and a railway overbridge for Shajapur.
During the event, Dr. Yadav reiterated that the state government would make efforts to implement the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in Madhya Pradesh this month, stating that the country should have a common legal framework.
Kalapipal Receives ₹30.86 Crore Development Projects
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav inaugurated and performed the foundation stone laying of various development works worth ₹30.86 crore in Kalapipal.
Before the programme, the Chief Minister participated in a roadshow where local residents welcomed him with flowers.
He said that Kalapipal is a special region blessed with natural resources and has significant potential for agriculture and development.

CM Launches ‘Hara-Bhara Kalapipal’ Plantation Campaign
Dr. Yadav launched the “Hara-Bhara Kalapipal” plantation drive during the Kisan Samriddhi Sankalp Sammelan.
Highlighting the importance of environmental conservation, he said that those who provide greenery to the earth help shape the future.
He praised the region’s natural beauty and highlighted the importance of rivers including:
- Nevaj River
- Lakunder River
- Chillar River
- Parvati River
The Chief Minister said that Shajapur represents the agricultural strength and cultural identity of Madhya Pradesh.
Government Working for Farmers’ Prosperity: CM Yadav
Addressing farmers, Dr. Yadav said the government is committed to improving farmers’ income and reducing their challenges.
He announced that farmers would no longer face the burden of six-month interest cycles as the government plans to provide loans for a full year.
He said the government’s focus includes:
- Increasing farmers’ income.
- Reducing agricultural costs.
- Expanding irrigation facilities.
- Providing better electricity supply for farming.
- Ensuring procurement at Minimum Support Price (MSP).
Irrigation Area Increased Significantly Under BJP Government
The Chief Minister highlighted the expansion of irrigation facilities in Madhya Pradesh.
He said that the irrigation area in the state has increased from around 7.5 lakh hectares to nearly 44 lakh hectares under BJP-led governments.
Dr. Yadav said improved irrigation has transformed agricultural productivity and helped farmers achieve better returns.
He also highlighted major water projects, including:
- Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal Link Project.
- Ken-Betwa Link Project.
Water Projects to Transform Bundelkhand and Surrounding Regions
Dr. Yadav said that long-pending water disputes between Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan were resolved through the efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government.
He stated that the Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal Project will benefit districts of both Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.
The Chief Minister also said that the Ken-Betwa Link Project will bring major changes to Bundelkhand by improving water availability and reducing migration caused by water shortages.

Better Power Supply and New Industrial Opportunities for Farmers
The Chief Minister said that farmers earlier struggled with unreliable electricity supply, but the situation has improved with separate electricity arrangements for villages and agricultural fields.
He assured farmers that future power availability would further improve, reducing dependence on night-time irrigation.
Dr. Yadav also encouraged farmers to diversify crops and explore new opportunities, including potato cultivation for the upcoming PepsiCo plant in the region.
UCC Implementation to Be Taken Forward in Madhya Pradesh
Speaking on legal reforms, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said that the country should have one common law system instead of separate laws for different communities.
He said the government would attempt to introduce the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly this month.
The Chief Minister said UCC is aimed at ensuring equality and dignity for all citizens.
Focus on Women Welfare, Employment and Investment Growth
Dr. Yadav highlighted various government initiatives for women and said that around ₹60,000 crore has been transferred to women’s accounts through welfare schemes.
He also mentioned employment initiatives, including:
- Restarting pending recruitment processes.
- Creating new job opportunities.
- Promoting investment in the state.
The Chief Minister said Madhya Pradesh has attracted around ₹10 lakh crore in investments, creating opportunities for industrial growth and employment.
New Opportunities Through Tourism and Education Initiatives
Dr. Yadav encouraged people to develop homestays along roadsides to promote tourism and local entrepreneurship.
He said the government would support such initiatives and highlighted the importance of education through Sandipani Schools.
The Chief Minister said Madhya Pradesh is moving towards development through a combination of agriculture, industry, technology and infrastructure growth.
