Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav handed appointment letters to 62 newly recruited mineral inspectors at a programme held at the Chief Minister’s residence, highlighting the state’s mineral resources and the role of the department in revenue administration.
Yadav said Madhya Pradesh is among the leading states in the mineral sector and has deposits of diamonds and coal, among other minerals. He said the newly appointed inspectors would have responsibilities connected with the mineral sector and described their appointment as an opportunity to enter public service.
The Chief Minister also said the state government had provided employment and service opportunities to 85,000 young people over the past year.
Mineral Revenue Rises to ₹12,000 Crore
Principal Secretary, Mineral Resources, Vivek Porwal said Madhya Pradesh’s revenue from minerals had increased from around ₹8,000–9,000 crore to ₹12,000 crore.

He said the state had initiated the appointment of 72 mineral inspectors for the 2026-27 financial year.
Porwal said the newly appointed inspectors would work in the mineral administration system, including activities related to mineral revenue.
Coal and Diamond Exploration Underway
According to Porwal, the Central government has allocated 33 coal mining blocks through auctions, of which eight have started coal production.
Development work has also begun in six other coal blocks to facilitate the start of production, he said.
In Chhatarpur district, exploration for diamonds is underway in two new areas. One diamond block has also been allocated in Panna district, according to the Mineral Resources Department.
The state is also setting up a greenfield gold concentrate processing unit in Singrauli for processing gold ore. Six gold blocks have been auctioned in Singrauli and Katni, Porwal said.
CM Calls New Recruits ‘Karmayogis’
Yadav said government employees should approach public service with a sense of responsibility. Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s approach towards government employees, he said those entering government service should view themselves as karmayogis rather than merely employees.
The Chief Minister said the state government had given the newly appointed mineral inspectors both appointment letters and “trust letters”, and urged them to work towards good governance and public welfare.
Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Backward Classes and Minorities Welfare Krishna Gaur was also present at the programme.
Yadav handed appointment letters to five selected candidates and interacted with the newly appointed mineral inspectors. The recruits said the appointment was a significant moment for them and expressed their commitment to carrying out their responsibilities.
