On the night of December 4 between 11 pm to 2 am, all senior IPS officers and police personnel of Mumbai Police came out on the streets for surprise inspections as they saw a rise in the criminal activities soon after the Covid pandemic lockdown was imposed in the state.
As per the Joint commissioner of police (law & order) Vishwas Nagre Patil, such All-Out Operation will be conducted every month to curb down the rising criminal activities in regards to possession of illegal arms and drugs in the city. They will also keep a track on the anti-social elements who are creating a menace in the city.
Many senior officials of Mumbai Police were present in the operation which includes Additional commissioners of all five regions, deputy commissioners of all 13 zones, assistant commissioners of all divisions and senior inspectors of all police stations.
In the first attempt to carry out this operation the police force managed to check 362 criminals on record of serious crime, 22 criminals with extreme crimes charges were tracked and arrested, 53 drug related cases were registered, one illegal firearm and 11 sharp weapons were seized and a total of 48 criminals were arrested.
