New Delhi: In a major step towards strengthening digital governance and improving last-mile service delivery, NITI Aayog has launched the Central Prabhari Officer (CPO) Portal. The platform is designed to enhance real-time coordination among stakeholders, improve field-level monitoring, and accelerate the implementation of development initiatives under the Aspirational Districts and Aspirational Blocks Programme (ADP/ABP).

Focus on Data-Driven and Responsive Governance
Speaking at the event, Rohit Kumar, Additional Secretary and Mission Director, ADP/ABP, NITI Aayog, emphasised the importance of data-driven governance and the crucial role of Central Prabhari Officers in capturing ground-level realities.
He noted that the CPO Portal has been designed as a comprehensive digital platform to:
- Record real-time field observations
- Streamline communication between stakeholders
- Enable faster administrative response
- Improve coordination across governance levels
How the CPO Portal Will Work
The newly launched system introduces a structured, real-time feedback mechanism:
- Central Prabhari Officers will submit field observations and recommendations via mobile devices.
- Once uploaded, the data becomes instantly visible to districts.
- District administrations will review suggestions, take action, and submit responses.
- State Planning Secretaries will monitor progress across departments and coordinate implementation.
- NITI Aayog and line ministries will have full visibility for oversight and policy alignment.
This creates a continuous feedback loop between field realities and administrative decision-making.
Improving Coordination and Accountability
The portal is expected to significantly improve governance efficiency by:
- Strengthening coordination between Centre, States, and districts
- Enhancing accountability through real-time tracking
- Ensuring quicker implementation of development suggestions
- Bridging the gap between field insights and policy action
Officials described the platform as a unified digital interface that connects on-ground observations directly with administrative systems.

Training and Capacity Building Initiatives
A short film demonstrating the features and functionality of the CPO Portal was also showcased during the launch event. NITI Aayog announced that dedicated training sessions will be organised for all stakeholders to ensure effective adoption and utilisation of the platform.
Conclusion
The launch of the Central Prabhari Officer Portal marks a significant step in India’s digital governance journey. By enabling real-time monitoring, faster communication, and structured feedback, the initiative is expected to strengthen implementation under the Aspirational Districts and Blocks Programme and further improve citizen-centric service delivery.
