Raipur: In a significant administrative overhaul, the Chhattisgarh government has transferred 43 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers and reshuffled several key departments across the state.

The order, issued from Mahanadi Bhawan in Nava Raipur under the Vishnu Deo Sai-led government, includes major changes at the level of Additional Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries, and District Collectors.

The reshuffle aims to strengthen governance, improve administrative efficiency, and streamline departmental functioning.

Top-Level Administrative Changes

The reshuffle has brought major changes in the state’s top bureaucracy:

  • Richa Sharma has been appointed Additional Chief Secretary, Panchayat and Rural Development Department.
  • Manoj Kumar Pingua has been given charge of the Forest and Climate Change Department.
  • Niharika Barik is now Principal Secretary of the Home and Jails Department.
  • Shahla Nigar has been assigned additional responsibility of Social Welfare along with Women and Child Development.

Key Departmental Reassignments

Several important departments have seen fresh postings:

  • Dr. Rohit Yadav has been moved to the Finance Department as Secretary.
  • Kamalpreet Singh will now handle the School Education Department.
  • Pardeshi Siddharth Komal has been posted to Agriculture and Agriculture Production Commissioner.
  • Subodh Kumar Singh has been appointed Principal Secretary, Energy Department and also Chairman of Chhattisgarh State Power Company.

Additionally:

  • Mukesh Kumar Bansal now handles Public Works and Commercial Taxes (excluding excise and registration).
  • R. Sangeetha has been shifted to Urban Administration and Development.
  • Shammi Abidi moves to Revenue and Disaster Management.
  • S. Bharathidasan takes charge of Tourism, Culture and Endowments.

Major Changes in District Administration

Collectors have been replaced in seven key districts, marking a major field-level reshuffle:

  • Vishwadeep appointed Collector of Bijapur
  • Pushpa Sahu posted as Collector of Koriya
  • Santosh Kumar Dewangan appointed Collector of Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi
  • Chandan Sanjay Tripathi appointed Collector of Balrampur-Ramanujganj
  • Santan Devi Jangde posted in Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur
  • Reena Jamil appointed Collector of Surajpur
  • Padmini Bhoi Sahu appointed Collector of Sarangarh-Bilaigarh

Raipur and Urban Administration Updates

Shyam Lal Dhawade has been appointed Commissioner of Raipur Division.
Sambit Mishra takes charge as Commissioner of Raipur Municipal Corporation.

Key Institutional and Commission-Level Transfers

  • Rahul Venkat appointed Secretary, Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission.
  • Rita Yadav becomes Secretary, Board of Secondary Education.
  • Sanjay Kannauje posted as Director, Culture.
  • Saransh Mittar appointed CEO of CREDA.
  • Padum Singh Elma takes charge as Commissioner, Excise.

Additional Charges and Supporting Appointments

Several officers have been assigned additional responsibilities:

  • Mohammad Kaiser Abdulhaq now also Mission Director, Jal Jeevan Mission.
  • Avinash Champawat gets additional charge of Higher Education.
  • Sanjeev Kumar Jha will also serve as MD, National Health Mission.
  • Rishabh Kumar Parashar appointed Director, Budget and Local Fund Audit.

State-Level Objective Behind Reshuffle

The state government stated that the large-scale reshuffle has been undertaken with the objective of:

  • Improving administrative efficiency
  • Strengthening governance at district level
  • Enhancing coordination between departments
  • Accelerating implementation of public welfare schemes
